MovieWiz v1.0.14.0 Released

I like what I see in the MW 1.14.0 release. There's so many changes I have not tried them all, yet.

The DVD play feature works well with the internal player, but when an external player is selected, ".DVD" gets appended to the passed directory name, hence the external player will fail to find it.

The "Locate New Content" button in MW Manager appears to keep finding the DVD directories. Even after they are added to the database. Perhaps this problem is related to above?

Any plans for an update?

New version of MovieWiz released. I didn't get all the new features I wanted added, but I will be travelling next week and wanted to release what I had completed.

Damn ... won't have access to my HTPC until tomorrow ...

Right, looks like I have a little work to do on the DVD piece. I'll take a look this weekend, but not sure I'll have a fix ready.

There is a "Hide Entry" in the Info view for a movie. This will remove it from showing in the plugin. There is also a feature in the MovieWizManager to Delete Hidden entries.
Will these two features satisfy your needs?

Umm...well...yes I guess.....but I still think a configurable delete button would be better. I have used the hide function in the past when a recording hasn't picked up any details when first loaded so it doesn't show in MW & I can go back to it later to add description etc.

I am using the CompositeImages
"PopupCenterButtonNormal", "PopupCenterButtonSelected" to display those buttons. Those settings can be found in the BaseSkin.xml. Keep in minde, if you change these settings ALL plugins using those compositImages will be affected.

Thanks that pointed me in the right direction Instead of changing them in the baseskin.xml I added them to the MW popup skin files & changed the sizes in there, works fine now

Plugin - When playing a category (Press play when Category list has focus), you can now Play All, Play Random, or Cancel.

- random play on any category - I've got the Video Jukebox I always wanted...

MW seems to have problems with shows that are quoted?
e.g. in my EPG, "Dante's Peak" (WITH quotes) which turns into a file called something like _Dante's Peak_DDMMYYYY.mpg i.e. quotes " turn to underscores _.

When I remove the leading "_" IMDB finds a title and image very quickly.

I am having problems recreating this. Does it only occur when importing from the Recordings, or does it also happen when manually changing a title within the config program?

When I go into the config, pic an entry and change the title to "Dante's Peak" (with quotes), it finds Dante's Peak no problem.

If it fails in both tests, make sure you have the most current version of WizWebHelper.DLL

Version 1.0.14.1 Attached with the following fixes:

* MovieWizManager - Fix to target location combo box to remember last entry
* MovieWizManager - Fix to Locate New Content for DVDs, filters out already loaded entries.
* Plugin - Fix bug when playing DVD with external player, removed .DVD from directory name
* Additional logging in an attempt to identify source of other defect/error messages.

Unzip and place in the plugins/MovieWiz directory.

My quick look at Version 1.0.14.1 fixes was encouraging. The DVD playing via external player now works, as does the DVD locate new content.

hey, this is awesome! looks great! I love how it is standalone so you can work with fixing names and getting info without having to use config.exe and stopping the recording service.

I had to make some adjustments to the description fonts but I am really happy to have tried this version out.

I been yearning for something like this.

I'm going to install the old version to see why I never used it and compare
