Yeah, you were right, none of them worked... I had to try though...

The card *supposedly* works under MT, and I have gotten it to work mostly under MT before (but it was a lot of hassle and it worked far better under Vista than XP in MT) but it did still sometimes get stuck on one sat or one TP but able to get both sats.

There's also supposedly support for it under DVBDream and Diseqc is supposed to work, but I have not gotten it to do so yet. So, apparently there are other people out there who have gotten or figured out the needed info to implement diseqc on this card... maybe that means there's hope... Smile

I'm beginning to wonder if I have a bad card... it'll get both sats for me, it just only wants to do one at a time... then I have to cold boot and mess with it a bit and eventually I can get it to scan the other sat.

My Digiwave 103g / Geniatech Digistar card works with a Diseqc switch
using MyTheatre 3.38 (likely some earlier versions as well, 3.38 is just what i'm using).

The most info I could grab from anywhere about Diseqc BDA driver support -> I found some Diseqc strings in the driver file "cxBDAtun.sys" .

Here's a partial dump, first one looks like an Api, the other ones just error strings:

LNBDiseqcDis

Diseqc: Rx Timeout
Diseqc: No Rx HW on demod
Diseqc: Rx buffer too short

Sorry, but I dont know how diseqc support is implemented in these drivers. The manufacturer would have to provide information.

The 103g driver file cxDBAtun.sys is made by Conexant, and it mentions:
"This is the BDA tuner/demod. driver inf file."

While searching my own findings, I found this Conexant DBS Demodulator and FEC decoder linux register interface, containing what looks like matching
functions I see implemented in the cxBADtun.sys file:

http://smue.org/us/uploads/datasheets/co...02807B.pdf

While it does not mean 103g uses the cx24123, it's likely a close match.

It's a start, we could almost ask Conexant now about the
Diseqc driver interface for the chip, instead of Geniatech, since it looks like it's really Conexant that made the driver.

I should check my card to see exactly what Conexant chips it uses since
the drivers look like Generic Conexant ones. After driver installation, all my card drivers descriptions are tagged "Conexant <something>".

Allright, from looking at my drivers, and what's in the site below,

http://www.conexant.com/products/entry.jsp?id=107

what i think should seal the deal for sure is if we could get a Conexant
CX23880/1/2/3 DVB-S Kit (developer kit)

If you look at this site, the developer kit's details
is the second link
"Customer Letter
CLT-200631-001.pdf CX23880/1/2/3 DVB-S Kit 48.4KB "

I double checked my drivers in Device Manager, they all appear
as plain-vanilla Conexant devices:
Conexant 23880 Video capture
Conexant 2388x AVStream Crossbar
Conexant 2388x Transport Stream Capture
Conexant BDA DVB-S Tuner/Demod

Removed my card from the PC to check it out
Chips are
Conexant Broadcast decoder
CX23880-37
Conexant QPSK Demod
CX24123-11Z
Conexant
CX24109-11Z

Written on the PCB are "DigiStar Ver 3.2" which confirms the Digiwave 103g cards are Geniatech's DigiStar cards.

I found the Conexant reference design / Evaluation kit matches the card well.

The only hardware diff is using CX23881 instead of CX23880.

Wonder how many cards uses the same chipset like this one.

And there is not any other special electronics other than that inside. Frequency generators, caps, resistors,... that's about it.

I have just bought this card (DigiWave 103g) and will hopefully be setting up the dishes this weekend (if the rain stops). This weekend I'll check the chips and report back what the hardware versions are as listed on the physical chips. If you have anything you would like me to check, let me know Wink

Just to confirm what is reported by the system, I checked hardware manager and I have the same reported hardware listed CX23880 and CX2388x etc as you described.

If I can get the g/f to agree on an outage window, I plan on updating to Vista and the latest version of GBPVR - it might take longer to get her to agree than to perform the fresh install Smile

The single quite undocumented issue i have with this card on XP MCE 2005 is having to stop the Media Center Receiver Service for the card to be recognized under MyTheatre. Keep this in mind.
