Record to File Size "Segments"

Basically, I want to set a file size, when the show being recorded reaches that threshold I want it to copy out of the main file a new file that is the size specified. And when it reaches that threshold again it does the same process. (I was hoping that commercial detection could be also integrated so that when a commercial starts the segment ends as well)

These resulting files are auto-encoded into .avi files, upon completion the .avi are appended together sent and stored in my archive (NAS box). The original file is now deleted freeing up the space. As a side note is there a limitation to the amount of tuners that GB-PVR can use?

simple archive (this is good because it will update your data base as you will find gbpvr uses its own data base rather than using the name of the file )

if you need help with what you are trying to do why dont you explain in detail your end objective

I would use this for time shifting. I almost always watch shows 15 minutes late and skip commercials and I find navigation on ts files is much easier when they are closed.
