name/number/logo behaviour

I am having a little problem with Community Skin and TVguide. I am using the stock TVGuide from Sub, and with any of the themes all I get is a channel number. If I use the stock blue skin I get a label only, and a few icons. I tried using the skin plugin advanced to change the guide, and the only preview I get is the last one, Rox I think. But, no matter what I try there I only get numbers.
I also looked at the <TVGuideChannelHeaderType> in config and it's set to 5?? Wierd!

Thanks Fatman_do, I hate changeing config by hand. I'll give it a shot. It doesn't really bother me too much, and I am curious as to how it got out of range! Have you seen that before? It's like a 3 week reinstall from scratch, new windows and GBPVR. No big deal on waiting till Sunday, looks like Saturday is shot, roomate looks to have a virus or spyware. Why don't they listen!!

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, my mother had an accident and passed away. As they are in Florida, it was a bit of a mess. My 88 year old father is still down there, he wont leave. Anyway, I just had a go at changeing the setting to the number 2, and it shows nothing. It seems to only want to display the channel number. What I would love is name and logo, if I knew where to get logos, but would settle for the way the default blue skin works. It displays name and SOME (like 3) logos. Don't know where the logos come from. I also just tried channellogotool, but it's not really ready for me, I use Dish and it only wants to do logos for broadcast TV.

Just tried it again. I just updated to Windows Vista, and reinstalled everything and I get the same thing. It will not display the name. If I set to name only it's blank.

I went through all the TV guides in the skinplugin\Resources folder. I made all formats conform the the method laid out by blue.

You can manually unzip these files and drop them in the proper Community3 folder, or extract the folder to \plugins\skinplugin\resources.

BTW, this post was done as a test via. Google Chrome web browser. It has a way to go, but shows potential.

Thanks Fatman_Do. I'll give it a try this weekend. I started downloading icons too. Would love to try icons and name. Only trouble now is I spent the weekend going back to XP Pro because I stopped getting live TV, and blamed it on Vista. Turns out my tuner card was bad!! Have to order a new one tonight.

OK, I had a chance to try the patch you sent. It seems to be the same. I downloaded a bunch of channel icons, but what I get is icons and numbers in community skin, and channel names and icons in default blue. I BTW, I extracted to \plugins\skinplugin\resources., for the record. What I have is usable (and pretty!!) but I would be willing to try to help troubleshoot what is the difference. Also, this was a COMPLETE reinstall (Vista goes beyond sucking!!) and I noticed something else. Skin Plugin didn't show up in PVRX@ till I restarted the computer. Just so you know.

Could you try loading "7-channel TV Guide - Reflect" from the skin plugin and set "<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>" to 3 in the config.xml in the main gbpvr folder, and let us know what you get.
