I followed the menu's in my SKY decoder to get this: Advanced setup/LNB Setup/On/Satellite-LNB switching/Local oscillator low band frequency/10750 MHz Ku-Band.
In GBPVR's Config, the Misc 2 tab (last tab) has the BDA Multiplexer set to Microsoft DVR-MS.
Unplugging the power from the SKY decoder stopped the Shuttle from being able to locate any channels, just the same effect as attaching the Satellite directly to the Shuttle.
I attempted to record a program from PVRX2 but I had a black screen when I started and a black screen when I played it back.
On a positive note, updating the EPG now scans each of the two frequencies (12483,H,22500,34 & 1256,H,22500,34) for sixty seconds and actually finds the Freeview channels EPG info.
So now I can view the TV Guide in PVRX2 and see the programs listed, when I select Live TV I now get the brief description at the bottom of the screen when I select a channel. Still no TV picture what so ever though.

you need to tick the power box at the bottom of the add device box then it will work regardless of if the sky box is turned on or off you have been told this 4 times nowSmile

instead of watching do a recording and see if you get a file

once you have a file try playing it back

if it plays back with sound but no picture then you will need a mpeg codec
go here and install http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

I should have mentioned that I have tried it with the power box ticked and unticked but it still won't pick up any channels when the Sky decoder is unplugged. I'll try it once again to confirm that for you Smile
Good tip about the sound I'll give that a go.

on your aerial splitter check that you don't have one that doesn't block the power getting through
it will have a red line or similar

I can confirm that I get no signal if the Sky decoder is disconnected from the splitter or if I connect the satellite cable direct to the shuttle, same thing. It didn't make any difference if the powered box was checked or unchecked. As soon as I reconnect the splitter and the SKY decoder I'm fine.
The splitter is a Hills Signal Master 5-2400MHz the SKY decoder is connected to the post marked "power pass OUT".
Your sound tip was a good one, I connected the Shuttle up to our stereo and when I set PVRX2 to watch Live TV I got the TV channels sound! Smile
Your MPEG codec is the next thing I will try. Just out of interest why do I need to install an MPEG codec was there supposed to be one there in the first place?

mpeg decoder is not standard on windows its required to decode the mpeg file just like you need a dvix codec to play divx movie files

when you say you connected it straight to the card you removed the splitter ?

I tried with:
The splitter still connected but the SKY decoder cable disconnected.
The satellite cable straight to the Shuttle
The splitter all connected up but the power turned off to the Sky decoder.

All the above gave me no signal on the Freeview channels with the powered box checked or unchecked.

Thanks for the explanation on the MPEG decoder. I had a quick look at the link you provided, I'll have a go at installing them.

Success!
Installing the MPEG codecs provided in your link worked, I have a picture now.
I would have never got there without all the help. Thanks very much.
