commercial skip

I have successfully done comskip while recording.

I did it only once, but it was yesterday with Alias.

It seamed like it worked ok.

But it was not thourough test.

just extract all the files into gbpvr root directory, and gbpvr will do it automatically know comskip is there, and begin to use it.

you may have to adjust the supplied .ini file say if you are using PAL instead of NTSC change the framerate to 25 not 29.97 aswell.

sorry for another stupid question, but its suposed to skip commercials on recorded tv right? Do i press a button, or does it just do it? Also when you say root directory i assume you mean in the folder called gbpvr as apposed to the folder that the gbpvr folder is in?

the gbpvr folder.

You have to hit play when you are in a blue block. Hit the blue button or ctrl b to see the progress bar. Play will move you to the end of a commercial block. Hit 0 + Skip to jump at any point.

Play is what you want to use.

does this work in recored shows? Cause there are no blue blocks, just a progress bar, or only in livetv after you pause for such amount of time? Again thanks for all the help, and sorry for being such a newb

after each recording is complete the comskip file is executed (runs around 7x speed so takes 1/7 of the total time for the recording), once that is done it should work for any recording. im not sure if it works in live tv, i stopped using it prior 0.2311.

okay thanks... Is there anyway to aply this to recordings i had before comskip?

you could manually run comskip on each file. i assume you would just run in command prompt
"comskip.exe [filename]"
