This is fairly common on XP with the Fullscreen Exclusive renderer (not a memory leak, jusk the desktop doesnt refresh on exit), and would explain why its full screen. Its always fullscreen when you use the Fullscreen Exclusive render. If you want to use window mode, then you'll need to use a different renderer.

Got it. I had selected VMR9 fullscreen. Now I selected VMR9 custom it starts up in a window- but- I still can't change the aspect ratio. I can drag a corner but it resets the aspect ratio to something constant and wrong.

Can you post a screenshot of your desktop with PVRX2 window so I can see what you mean?

Not sure how to do that on this stripped down PC which has no other applications other than GBPVR. Can you suggest a way?

The picture looks like a 16x9 being displayed on a 4:3 tv screen. All the people/faces are too tall and thin.

For a screenshot you should be able to hit the PrintScreen button on the keyboard, then start MSPaint.exe and past it in there.

Do you have the TV Shape set correctly in the config app?

I actually wanted to see the full desktop with PVRX2.exe window on it to ensure that the window shape was the same aspect ratio as your desktop. (ie same ratio of width to height)

What shape is your TV or monitor?

Do you have your tv shape set correctly in the config app?

What video decoder do you have selected in the config app?

Have you tried pressing F7 a few times to make sure you're in the 'auto' mode?

Sorry ran out of time. Here is the full monitor screen. Monitor is an old 4:3 19" crt
Toggling F7 goes through all the settings and I can see minor changes to the picture aspect ratio but always within a fixed aspect ratio 'Windows' window.

Config tab Playback has Widescreen (16x9) selected and MPV Decoder Filter set for the video decoder.

If your monitor is 4:3, then then playback tab has to be set to 4:3 for the video aspect ratio to be correct.

Thats correct and the way it is suppose to work. The Window is always supposed to the same fixed aspect ratio as your desktop.

Hmm, that's not how GBPVR works on my other PC. There, I can view 16x9 on a 4:3 monitor in a 'Windows' window which I have dragged to be 16x9 (low and wide).
