Oh, didn't see that. Sorry, didn't mean to flame anybody or so. I apologise. Generally, I tend to think these are very well-behaved forums compared to others I visit, and don't want to add crabbiness about using them. That is to say, not daring to write, because you might be flamed.
Swedish kids start learning english in the 3rd grade (they're about 9-10yrs old then), have english courses all the way up to 9th grade (when they're 15-16yrs old) at which point the common school ends and what amounts to the US senior high adds another two to three years english at a more advanced level. That's how I had it. Don't know how it's nowadays though, but I'd wager it's the same as in the late 70s when I was becoming a teen. I guess it's those results we see on english-speaking forums where Swedes attend.
Most shows are english, or in english, in Sweden, so yes, we (at least me) record a lot of American TV. The US cultural imperialism has had a great impact, and still has, on TV-programmes being aired in Sweden.
This is way off-topic though, so I'm shutting up now. :p
