but I read it can take quite some time before you get started.

it works like google mail.
You can register to become a candidate beta tester but only confirmed beta testers can send you an invitation message that makes you a confirmed beta tester.
Only confirmed beta testers get something to test.
Candidate beta testers get into the LARGE pool of possible future beta testers

Did anyone find themselves a Joost beta tester buddy yet? I've signed up for the beta program (so I'm in the BIG pool) but it does seem that to fastpath your way into the program you need to know someone already in it. (Kinda like the rest of life, I suppose. Sigh!)
