I'm not sure whether this kind of option (text size, colour etc) should be tied into a range of Theme specific XML files or moved to a Text category which directly edits the (whatever theme) baseskin.xml file.

Thoughts?

Yep I think that's spot on, and a good idea. I do think we should keep the option of loadable specific theme baseskin.xml's, but off load any sizing or colour options to the text catagory.

I will say that from my tinkering with text sizing, that the skin doesn't really tolerate sizing above the 15/17pt too well, could be something to factor in ???

The current CS blue (standard/large) baseskin.xmls differ only in text pt size.

But as I said, I do favour keeping the theme specific baseskin.xml as a loadable option given that maybe 50% of the themes layout can be altered from this one file.

Way "back in the day", the xml's were optimized for 16pt. That seemed to be about what most of the "High Visibility" skins used in most instances. That being said, your range of 15/17 is probably good enough of a high limit for most users.

I've reviewed the "..\Resources\Layout" folder and removed any solely Text sizing xml formatting (ie standard - large text baseskin + 5 channel large text TVGuide), superseded since the inclusion of text size editing via the plugin, and I've added a LiveGuide folder (I'm completely open to naming here).

These will require a (re) referencing in the SkinPluginConfig.xml, I tried to have a go with limited success so I thought I'd leave it to the professionals Big Grin

Is there a task on the list for this?

Sorry I'll try to be more vigilant there.

As for the SkinPluginConfig.xml, it just needs to reflect the folder change in layout, I just can't test it because I'm experiencing this also.
