Ok! The port 8080 was already being used...changed to 8100... now works fine! no 3rd button delay....Let me observe for some days and report back. Thanks much.

oh, forgot to mention it's setup to take up to 4 digits of channel #'s...Smile
[and any combo up to 4 digits is ok]

i just tried adding a 0 in front of the number as in 0xxx but it appears my box doesn't like that even if i do it from the real remote...lol
[even tho it does take any other 4 digit # starting with anything except 0]

so confirmed it works whether padding is used or not, and any combo up to 4 digits..

Initial impression is that this will solve my problem! I just posted a thread that I was getting inconsistent transmits with Hipsend. Installed net2hipsend and we're flying (with a "so far" caveat).

Well done, mate!

Is this the "official" thread for updates, etc.?

yep, this is it.....working for me for a month so far and not a single hiccup..Big Grin

in fact, way outperforms the original one so much so, i'm channel surfing now thru a sat box w/irblasts! not bothering to look at the guide, just changing channels as fast as i can and 'seeing' what's on.....Smile
[a laborious pain with the old hipsend]

so, glad another happy user...
most are probably like me and you, hipsend works ok, but when it boinks something you've been waiting to see, you come looking for a fix...and end up with a turbocharged fix..lol

just made another one for IR Server as well as that one wouldn't even blast to 2 different boxes.. [even tho you could set it all up in program, no way to blast 2nd box]

race ya to ESPN...Big Grin lol

Gave a pretty good test last night setting up 6 recordings all over my cable box.

5 were sweet, 1 got lost.

Set up a quick test this morning (2 recordings) after I tweaked the timing parameter for my GBPVR channel changer from 500 to 600. 1 worked 1 missed the middle digit (config'd for 3 digits 0 pad).

Any way for me to decipher where the digits get lost, or a more efficient timing setting I should be using?

Cheers!

i'd just hammmer away at channels from cmd line, trying delays till i saw what did and didn't work well and set appropriately...

what worked welll for me even with other progs is finding min and max delays that work, and splitting the middle...i would go all the way up to 1000 [1 sec] at least..

and as with any ir blasts, may want to re-learn with as short a key burst as possible...
many times we learn a multiple of the codes we need when only 1 will do...[they repeat]
so i made mine as short as possible when i learned them...Smile

oh and just noticed you said 0 pad...should be 3.....
i couldn't test 2 digit numbers cuz my box only goes down to 100...so -pad 3 should be standard...
what was the number of the channel that was missed?

I am having an interesting problem!

The setup was working fine for a long time! But of late there is tremendous delay between channel changes (60 secs!).

Totally different problem as well - I use bluetooth keyboard and HIP actually interferes with only one key (space bar) - I have to depress space bar couple of times for the key to get recognized. If I exit the memory resident HIP then the keyboard space works fine.

Can you please help me troubleshoot this problem?

hmmm, not sure what is causing that, but check inside hip prefs for 'define hip hotkey' i have mine not set, but sounds like yours is set to space bar..[which it intercepts]
but also could be in systemwide keys, there's an option to intercept keys..
i would look inside your hip config file for any mentions of 'space'and seeing if any are out of sorts..[like one being by itself, unlike the rest of key settings..]

other than that i'd try lookin on hip forums...or resetup your hip...[save configs first]
bluetooth does have networking components, so may be settings there also..

maybe change the port? [be sure to do so in config and hip to match]
might also be BT networking, try to disable that if possible..
oh and be sure to lock hip down to your network ip range...

hadn't gotten any errors from anyone so hadn't checked this thread in a long time...
so far not a single error here either...Smile

one thing i've noticed is, i set my config to 0-pad channels and had my first bad channel change...it's not needed and i noticed with my cable box, if i use real remote to '0-pad' the numbers, even *it* can't change them right...[i hit 0107 on box's actual remote, doesn't work]

so for dish network 301 boxes at least, don't check the padding box in config..
[nor 3 digit box either, niether is needed,my app adjusts on fly]

just thought i'd give a heads up in case anyone else is having problems...

pBS, thanks for pointing me to this thread as I suspect it will solve my problem. However, I cannot get it to work from GBPVR. Followed your instructions I was able to get the webinterface up and running. From there I can change channel without any problem. From GBPVR its a different story. Pointing to net2hipsend.exe with only the channel as parameter, nothing happens. Also tried another port and with all paramterers both from GBPVR as well as from the cmd prompt. Not really sure where to look now.

Any thoughts?
