pbb Wrote:Thanks for the info. I couldn't get MLPanel to work. I didn't put a lot of time into it though. The default screensaver does work. I was hoping to get something different (i.e. slideshow), but it will do for the time being.

pbb Wrote:It's possible I may not have had it configured correctly as I recall the documentation wasn't real clear to me.

Can I ask you to give MLPanel another try & let us know where the documentation is confusing so I can make it more understandable on the wiki & by doing so make it less confusing for others setting it up in the future.....to put it another way, "would you do us a favor to make the doc's better & at the same time we will help you get MLPanel working for you" Wink

In your position I would forget the screensaver part to start with & just get MLP to work first then add slide show & then set it as your default screensave after it is up & working first.

Ok, I guess I'm not real sure how to use MLPanel if I'm not using it as a screensaver. I made sure I still had the files in the correct place, and I replaced the config file for the plugin with a clean one from the install package. I thought that all I had to do to get it to work was to go to NetRadio, but when I went in and tried to play a net radio station, my MVP rebooted.

You should have a MLPanel button on your main menu after you install it & by just selecting that it will start MLP working either in non playing or playing now mode depending what is happening at the time just the same as it does automatically when set as the default screen saver, if it isn't showing check it is enabled in config.

MLP has nothing to do with the "actual playing" of music either net radio or from any of the other music players it just takes the information from them & uses it to display the relevant information within MLP PlayingNow modes when you select it. So the MVP reboot for net radio shouldn't have anythig to with MLP...if it was me I would just try again & see what happened & if it keeps on happening post your logs so we can see what's going on.

I referenced this earlier, but I wonder if the fact that I'm using the MVP has anything to do with this. I don't even see MLPanel on my menu. In the config app I have the checkbox selected next to it on the Plugins tab, but I don't see it on the menu on my TV screen.

MLPanel does support incremental updates to the MVP and you have it turned on.

getValue: /settings/MVPUseIncrementalUpdates : true

You need to disable this in config.xml.

If you get the chance, could you recreate the problem and post your MVP-pvrx2.exe.log and the Interfaces.dll.log (from plugins\MLPanel folder) please.

Just to take this out of the equation, both ACTCMS & I use MVP's (six between us if I remember right Big Grin) so it shouldn't be that as it works fine for us. Post those logs & I'm sure we will soon get you up & running.

I think you and ACTCMS should turn on incremental updates to see what happens too. My experience was that MLPanel didn't work.

I'm not saying it isn't incremental updates causing the problem, but for me I have only recently had to turn it off to get the normal GB menus to work properly on the MVP after I added a specific MAC address for it & even then the only problem I had with MLP was it didn't clear the screen properly when it updated, it still showed on the main menu etc. For you did it not show on the main menu at all?
