So does this mean PCH is currently the best client option for GBPVR?

Best is too subjective, as would be any rating scale. There are always going to be tradeoffs of using an extender versus a good HTPC. Also the current client used on the NMT is still not a bad option for GPBVR users yet this offers quite a bit more so I can't even compare the two.

For my personal use, anything I can capture with GBPVR analog or digital QAM and ATSC up to 1080i play just fine so I don't need anything more. I'm looking at an HD-PVR and this does great job with those files too. Some h264 files outside North America will still be a problem but many will play using the NMT player and this is available without leaving the GBPVR interface. The HE-AAC audio is probably the biggest problem area now. They represent a small % of PCH users but a rather significant of GBPVR users because it impacts NZ. There are also those users who want Netflix or to be able to play games etc via the GBPVR interface and that isn't possible.

But in general if it comes down to value and simplicity, no messing with decoders, codecs, overlays Windows patches, I don't think an NMT can't be beat for many users. The PCH A110 is certainly good it is the most complete NMT right now, but for true value you can't beat the $149.00 EGreat EG M34, shipped to Canada it is almost $100 less, which is great if you don't want or need a hard disk. It won't be available until the end of the month but I am going to try and get one.

Do I need the A110, or is the A100 a good replacement for an MVP?
What, me worry?

Unfortunately the A100 is out of production. Most PCH users wanted an internal drive and DTS downmix which the A110 has so the A100 stopped selling.

I think the real question was, if we already have the A100, will we have to upgrade to the A110 to use the new interface?

Hadn't thought of that - both mine are A-100's

Don't worry, I almost always do development on the A100, typically because there is newer beta software. I did use the A110 the last couple of days and there was no difference.

Instructions? Replace mvpmcx2 with the newer version, and there is one config.xml change that you can actually see in the dont-edit-me file.

UJB, just so you know for HD this is component only. I believe you told me you had to use HDMI.
