Alright, got the card, think I have analog working (going to test record some shows now). But I am having no luck with the QAM (and WinTV shows absolutely NO channels - which seems very odd to me). I am having separate issues with my new digital receiver from Comcast - so there might be a larger problem with the digital signal - and I am going to cease testing until they come out to fix that problem.

I will post back when I know if I can record analog successfully, I am going to attempt the record three shows at once (since my ATI 550 Pro is still in the machine), and see what I get.

How about that, I am recording three analog shows at once! I dig that!

Hopefully once Comcast comes out and fixes my digital tuner (or whatever is keeping it from working), I will be able to get the QAM side of this tuner working. Gotta get ready for work now, so no more messing with it today.

PM me your zip code so I can see what channels you are supposed to receive and on what frequencies.

Sent you a PM, been playing for a bit here, with not much luck - till now. Using the QAM.ini manager 1.002, and HRC frequencies (70+) I see my first digital channels starting to appear!! I will be soooooo happy if this works, considering I have not a clue about what I am doing, it's all trial-and-error right here. Should I do the full HRC frequency scan (instead of the 70+)? And what should I be expecting in the way of number of found channels? Thanks.
Well, it found a bunch of channels, then I went to try and preview them (in order to map correctly those without names), and the mapper froze up on me. Crap. Guess I will try again.

Sorry, tonight was date night so I'm late to the party. I see you found what you needed though. Your system does use the HRC frequencies as you found out. I would recommend that you do a full scan because looking at your lineup, it looks like you get QAM on channel 8 and then again on channels 72+ (specific channel enable/disable is something I need to implement in the manager). You can see what channels you should get at http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels_us if you plug in your zip code.

As for the freeze when previewing, zip and post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files after it crashes.

Yeah, about to start a full scan, then I have to reconfigure my schedules direct listings for the digital source and figure out what aligns with what... Fun stuff. I thought it would be easier if my digital tuner worked, and I could use it's on screen guide to match what I see on the PC, but that won't be a go until tomorrow when Comcast comes out. Guess it is busted.

It would appear that Schedules Direct does not have listings for all the channels I can get, what is another option I could use (or is it just that they don't line up with the names I see?).
Thanks.

Just to add - I am recording a test file now - and it looks good! However, when mapping channels I ran into several issues where I had a signal - but nothing to map it to from SD listings. Some of them (I will probably regret doing this as I am not sure the programming overlaps) I mapped to the same channels I use for my standard analog cable. Do I need to research another listings provider for my digital channels? If so, what should I be looking at.

Thanks for all the help.

It only froze the one time, since then it has been going strong.

Its probbaly highly unlikely that Schedules Direct does not have a complete digital listing for your area, although i do not use it. Secondly when scanning for channels it is difficult to know exactly what channel it is without viewing it, i have some channels that i can identify easily by the number, but mosy are completely different. This is that most QAM lineups are remmaped to channel nuimber by your cable company so what you see on your box as channel 10 could be 85.123 as an example.

So i would use the silicondust site listed in one of whurlston post that will tell you what QAM number it is ie 85.123 and then give you the station id or tell you its unknown and then you will have to view it to figure it out.

Client: AM2 5600, biostar 790GX (onbard HD3300), 4gb memory, Vista, LM remote mapping app, Acer Revo R3610 (Atom N330) Win 7, 785G (HD 4200), Win 7, 4gb ram

Yeah, I am pretty sure I know what I am doing here (though it is all new to me). But, for example, I found my local channels which in Schedules Direct have the call names like WMARDT - but I found signals for WMAR (once as an unknown - must be the SD) and WMARHD. Naturally I assumed the HD could be mapped to the DT. But, where I had issues was some that I found HD channels for like WMPT, but Schedules Direct only had the standard listings, so I had to map the HD channel (MPT-HD) to the same as my analog WMPT.

See what I mean?

Anyone know if the remote should be able to work with XP (non-MCE)? I can't get the damn thing to install drivers of any sort. It's not a needed thing, but a nicety, I have an iMON with my case that works very well.
