in my experience, A-Data ram is one of the most frequent dead ones i encounter...like they're not very robust or something cuz they seem to die very easily...like extreme environments tend to kill them sooner than other brands...[heat, extreme dust, overclocking]
they work ok new usually, just don't seem to last very long..
[maybe the quality of the other surface mount stuff [besides mem chips] is lacking]
but memory can be hard to nail down when it's failing sometimes...passed tests don't *always* mean good ram..Sad

I tried the underclocking, but it didn't help. I opened it up, took out the second bank of 1GB memory, restarted it and it seems to be running stable! We'll see how it holds up, but it's looking better..

if taking one out helped, might have been running in 2x mode [2N v. 1N] making 800mhz mem run at 1600mhz in banked mode which also can be unstable if everything's not up to snuff...
some mb's can disable that in bios, others you have to just take one out..

probably just a bad dimm then. the proof will be if you switch the DIMMs and then it gives problems again.
