PLEASE PLEASE do this if you can! That would be awesome. I am currently using XBMC as a client for GBPVR in the bedroom (or to extent that is possible now.) The server is downstairs in the family room. I do watch recorded programs from the recorded folder on XBMC and comskip does work, but there are times when looking at a description like knight rider_20020601_210003 kinda isn't helpful.

I'm not even going to bother looking until XBMC runs better on my ION. Just for some clarification I am talking the new XBMC and I will focus only on linux. I might have made some headway with the original xbox if someone donated one a few years ago as suggested by jksmurf http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27303 and it would just work in XBMC today

Thanks but definitely not, that was when I was looking at MVP SD options. With the PCH solution and I will wait to see why GBPVR really start needing alternatives to it (ie Hauppauge, xtreamer etc) and looking into the ION will be more for fun then something I am considering releasing at this point.

I had some time to play much more with the Asrock using a full Ubuntu 9.04, XBMC 9.10-pre version that support nvidia hardware (VDPAU), with an MCE remote and I was much more impressed. It played all the content that I could through at it (bird scene etc) including commercial DVD's using the build in drive without a hitch. Ubuntu's performance improvement over Win 7 on the weaker hardware was also very clear and I don't see need to buy Windows at this point.

XBMC did have a tendency to crash playing in-progress recording when the TS is of bad quality.

When the time comes to replace my MVP's I would really like to use something ION based. Preferably XBMC running on Linux with emulation support would really be nice.

I would like to thank Martin and Sub for all their hard work.

Ideally I would like to wait a little longer and get a 2nd generation Atom/ION combination but I don't think I can wait much longer.

I'm thinking of getting a the Point of View motherboard as I already have a empty Mini-ITX case.

How well did you motherboard run GBPVR? The unit will replace a pentium m 2.0ghz will there be a noticeable drop in performance?

It's fine with GB-PVR, but it should be for what it costs.

That would be awesome. XBMC Live is very nice but without TV recording.. and Mediaportal was a pig for me to install (and GBPVR is giving me less grief so far)

I just got the ACER REVO from Newegg for US $199. Comes with XP Home and set it up as a GBPVR client. Works like a champ so far playing hidef video. Nice small form factor and low power/heat. Hardware to mount it to back of LCD or TV is extra which I have not checked on yet.

I'm using an MCE remote with it.
