Could you try with 1080i instead of 720p? Just add -m 1080i to the startmeup line.
Martin mvallevand Wrote:Could you try with 1080i instead of 720p? Just add -m 1080i to the startmeup line. Martin, Are you on here 24/7 ??? I changed the PCH settings to 1080i and captured the log files again. Do I need to also change the settings in config.xml to something else? If so, can you explain what needs changing? Edit: Sorry, that's what I get for trying to read this on my phone. I missed the part about -m 1080i. I went back and changed this (still no timeline and inconsistent OSD), but I have a question. I have a hard disk installed on the PCH and I am starting GbPvr via the web services (installed with CSI). I do not even have a mvpmc share on the server, so I assume changing the startmeup will have no effect. Does changing the resolution on the PCH have the same effect? Thanks, Terry

I suggested 1080i because the OSD is definitely fainter at 720p and I was wondering if you missed it. Changing it on the PCH is recommended and you are correct startmeup isn't even used so you proved that this wasn't the problem. Maybe go the PCH again and try and play a video. Hit the Setup key will video is playing to make sure all the settings are at 50.
Failing that, sub is going to need to look at the logs, to see if the pause is sending the correct information. It's nice having access on the laptop, my wife thinks I am watching TV with her. Martin

My wife is being less forgiving - I keep interrupting her show.
What is the setup key supposed to do while watching a video? It does not seem to do anything. Also, I just tried LiveTV for the first time on the PCH and when the OSD displayed (it always works on the first pause) I also get the timeline! Maybe there is something wrong with the recordings I am using to test with, they are somewhat old. So with LiveTV the timeline appears to show whenever the OSD displays. Sometimes doing a skip and then pausing will show the OSD also (but not always), so it could be coincidence. Once again, thanks for all your help. Terry

Reading about the LiveTV working gives me a thought. Occassionally for me the resume prompt starting a video seems to be hidden at start up (your logs do seem to indicate GBPVR thinks there is an OSD). Hit the right cursor and OK when the file starts and then see if pause works.
Setup in the PCH software allows you to adjust brightness contrast etc. Setup in GBPVR while video is playing should give you the OSD EPG. Martin

This has been sort of niggling in the back of my mind all day so I thought I would check what I am seeing & ask a few questions.
When I press pause while watching a recorded video I get the OSD pop up but no timeline, I then need to press the blue button twice, press one turns the OSD off then the second press turns it back on with the timeline showing, is this not normal? I am fairly sure I have had this behavior on the MVP ever since I upgraded to PVRX2, it used to show the timeline & OSD straight away when paused using the old GBPVR on the MVP.

Sometimes the pause does come on with no details and/or timeline and it always is cleared after about 5 seconds by GBPVR, but hitting the blue key while paused will bring them back.

I tried your suggestion of hitting the blue button twice after pausing and it then appears to work, at least most of the time. I get both the OSD and the timeline. Another point - they both appear to work in LiveTV mode (without the blue button) as long as I wait about 1 minute between pauses. Once the display does not work, however, it is hard to get it to work again without restarting LiveTV. |
