Interesting discovery, and may still be something I want to try at some point.

For the time being I have "chickened out", and moved the MVP to the one TV that's close enough to the router that I can have a wired connection for the MVP. The media server PC is still on wireless, but I got a Hawking External Directional 6db antenna for it, and it now has enough signal it can blast the file through to the router.

FWIW...

Speaking to people at work, it seems that the accepted level for the WiFi Fragmentation Threshold is 1500bytes, however DLink have this set much higher in their default config ( well, in my router anyway ). Something else to play around with ....

I just got my WIreless setup to work with the MediaMVP this weekend. I have tried numerous combinations that have all worked with some customization of the wireless advanced config. Right now I am running the new Belkin Pre-N router with the Media MVP attached to a Linksys Game Adapter. I am getting an "Excellent" signal through about 4 Plaster walls The signal strength doesnt drop unleess I venture to the edge of my property. The Pre-n stuff is also kinder if you have a mix of b and G device on the network. I currently have 5 B devices on the network while I also stream video to my MVP.

I have also tried the Netgear WGU624 DOuble 108 which worked but the router locks up constantly.

I tried the WRT54GS which worked but the signal strength was horrible.

FOr the MVP side I was initially have disconnect issues after a few moments of watching a program but found that putting a fast hub between the MVP and the Game Adapter worked really well.

i've got a netgear wireless g router (wgr614v2) and got a netgear wireless g game adapter (wge111) for my MVP this week, and after some fiddling with the WEP security settings, it works great...

povarotti - That's great. I also have a WGR614 (v5) and was hoping it would be able to handle a MVP wirelessly to our bedroom. Where did you get the 111? I haven't really seen them in any stores around here. (I'd like it to be easy to take back in case I can't get it to work well.)
