Thanks for asking.
re channel mapping. I'd do it more often without worrying if....

The pop-open, drop-down boxes were larger - or as suggested, drag & drop from the found list.
Tick box to display only free to view channels (= hide encrypted).
Tick box to not display alternative audio streams.
Possibility to sort on channel name.
When doing a re-mapping, some way to highlight channels that have changed.

re the UI. I may be a simple soul, but I'm fairly happy with how it is. re those folk asking for 'right click' facilities - don't forget those users not using PC's but MVP/NMT devices.
I'd like to see a little more stability with Client PC's if you have the time and/or inclination, or should this be more of an NMT emulation job?

cheers

I like the UI - straight forward and easy to use.

Although I do like whurlston's 'time on all screens' idea and it would be nice if the server's computer name also appeared on all screens - possibly a configurable option? (I've got more than one server).

As for the back-end, a way of allowing a screensaver to drop back to whatever was showing before it kicked in instead of to the Main Menu would be great... (I'm sure I saw that suggestion before somewhereBig Grin)

i'd love to see global popups return...would enable plugins to do processing in background, among other things..such as callerid..popup warning of coming playback reminders..

on the back end, an opening up of the hardcoded software encoding methods used by some of the haupp devices, i have several software mce encoders that work fine in graphs, but gbpvr won't let me connect the filters..i'd be happy if it were even unsupported, but allowed..[on your own sort of thing] but i realize it's a stretch..

and sub_title added to video library meta info...Smile

On the channel mapping, I think some sort of ordering of the channel named scanned, maybe the transponder it's attached to as occasionally there are multiples so knowing which one was which would be useful.

The only other feature could be to remove or disable the channels already selected after they have been mapped to something.

As for the rest of the UI, I don't see the need for a bunch on wholesale changes (but thats just me) just a couple on incremental things - advances in the archiving features, integration with a home server for stored movies/tv etc.

Maybe some sort of scheme where users/developers can add buttons to existing screens would open it up a bit more to get developers to add features.

I'm a fan of the XBMC HD skins http://xbmc.org/skins/ Confluence looks great at HD and unfortunately GBPVR looks dated but still the UI is very functional. I liked Slick for the initial "Wow" factor but it never performed which is why I settled on Mayhem3. What UI changes I would I like to see

- fix the brain dead OSD timeline on the NMT when navigating

- screen saver on video pause

- scrolling backwards in libraries

- compact view of EPG (show only favourites)

- scrolling the EPG on the MVP/NMT up/down with the << and >> like the libraries and scroll by days with colours.

- remove dead channels in config.exe even if they have recordings.

- allow channels selection greater than 99.

- music library "loses" folder.jpg inside the folder. I't like to see art when music is playing. Please don't replace it with jukebox2, that's why there are plugin.

- user profiles for the UI, EPG and maybe resume.

- allow a new kind of plugin to allow tcpip remote of the MVP and NMT

- allow replacement screensavers like MLPanel to return to where they came from.

A sleep timer to exit live tv to the main menu would be handy. My computer goes to sleep (S3) fine after it is in the main menu.

If a video was watched to the end and it returns to the previous menu (a completely watched video), it would be nice if it did not prompt to ask if you want to resume or restart the next time you selected to watch it, since it completed its previous full viewing session.

Backend:

An option to fall back to the first tuner when changing channels instead of it using the same tuner if the channel is available.

Make the Digital channel mapping dialog box a little smaller http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=43719

Thanks for considering any of these.

oh and one more thing...the client modes filter efficiency...it seems like it could use less bandwidth for the feedback..

and transitions between timeshift mode files is still hit and miss...
[ usually no more than 2-3 shows before a black screen transitioning to next one]
this is on main pc interface, not PCH, but there too...related?

I would second pBS on the global popups... I would like to see the return of a caller id option.

Also I would like to see a squeezed video while looking at the fullscreen guide. Sort of like what DirecTV does. (I will get a pic for you when I get back in town in a couple days.) Clicking on the channel name changes the channel in the squeeze.

I believe it has been brought up before, but I would like to see more integration to what has been scheduled to record in the search screen. A popup that tells you about a conflict giving you a way to resolve it without having to change to recordings.

I have not even really looked to see if it was possible but I would like to see the status of my tuners on the main screen... Maybe just the name that is in the config and a red light if it is in use.

These are good suggestions - keep 'em coming. I'm intending to tackle a pile of these in the next release.
