Thanks again Martin. Just to fill you in, I attached a USB drive to the netbook and tried recording to that drive instead of the NAS. I could then play back the recordings with no problem. So for some reason I can record directly to the NAS, I can playback the recordings directly from the NAS, but I could not stream from it.

Since I think you use an HDHR and especially if your are recording multiple channels to/from the NAS while streaming from the NAS to the PCH you would be stretching the limits of most NAS devices.
