Martin, could you let me see your NPVR.log where it builds the graph for this file?

I see you are using the ffdshow decoders - maybe I should try them - do you know if there is a recommended version?

Also, I'm not quite sure what you meant by this

I use the ffdshow tryouts I'm not sure what date, probably two months old.

I meant the data PVRx2 was reporting to you was too high for the MVP. Your sample showed the data was actually PAL, although I'm surprised at the low bitrate for a UK file.

I'll try the recommended ffdshow tryouts version then.

I think MPEGStreamClip could be causing a problem - I just trimmed a brand new GBPVR .mpg and the original plays fine in NPVR, but the trimmed version doesn't.

It's just strange that everything else plays it fine...

Well, you can try SAF5, it is based on latest FFDshow builds and all is preconfigured here.

I tried FFDshow Tryouts - no joy. Then I tried SAF4 - still no joy.

So then I converted the failing file to .ts and it works fine.

I'm not really convinced now that it is a decoder problem - I'm more concerned about why it's not actually building a graph.

Was there ever a resolution to this problem. I am experiencing it on 2 out of 3 computers. On one of my clients I can play back all gbpvr imported recordings perfectly. On the server and one other client I get a black screen with the OSD showing what should be playing. The Time Bar across the top just diplays a begining and ending of 00:00. I am currently on 1.5.28 with all patches installed.

On my second client that this is not working on, I changed all the setting in NPVR to match the client that is working. Still with same black screen.

The logs do not show much of anything.

Thanks for any help
