I guess I just don't understand how they can keep the money. They can have all kinds of stupid reasons why they might say you can't use your account any more, but it just doesn't make sense that they can use that as an excuse to keep your money.

Sub needs a lawyer! (they may have different names across the ocean, advocate etc?)
I'm no lawyer but come from a family of them and am sure if you look deep down into the paypal smallprint they can actually do pretty much whatever they want........ Including keeping your money ..... It is not good but then it really seems to be only the sh*sters these days that get away with robbing everyone. Honesty may make friends but often not fortunes! But my grandmother always taught me 'Honesty is the best Policy' if only....... Steeb

As a "donatee", I'd be bloody annoyed if my cash wasn't given to the intended recipient. Surely they cant just decide to keep it without at least informing the people who paid and give them the option of a refund. That's blatant theft. Can you tell who's transactions you never actually received so those individuals can at least complain and demand a refund and contribute by some other means?

PayPal is a piece of shit as ebay is. See also: http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url...=Translate (the babelfish translation isn't too bad).
sub, i would donate to your normal bank account too. Just need to know IBAN and BIC. I like the old way, PayPal is... bah. I sell something on ebay. I have to pay ebay fees for the selling. As long as i have not enough renommée, i have to take PayPal (yes, i must(!) use it). If i receive money from ebay deal, then i have to pay PayPal fees too. And if i try to transfer money from PayPal to my account, then it takes 3-4 days. In these days PayPal works with my mones too. The makes money from shit. You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

Annoyingly there is no good alternatives to PayPal. Its quite likely I'll have to setup another PayPal account, and this time be vigilant about drawing down the money instead of leaving it in the account for half a year.
It was particularly bad timing with the yearly web hosting cost about to be due (prepaying is much cheaper). Grrrr.

Just checked my Paypal account again and no indication on payment's transaction history. There must be more to this, what if I was paying for a physical product, then the vendor and I would have an issue that the Paypal resolution centre should be involved in resolving.

The rest of the funds are placed in escrow for 180 days (half a year), after which I can file some sort of claim (though the procedure for that isnt clear to me yet, and not 100% sure I'll definitely get the funds). Painful. There was about US$600 in the account. Its not a huge amount, but it helps pay the bills that otherwise come out of my pocket.

The more I read the more pissed I get and it's not even my money! When did common sense get lost? If it's happening to you, it's happening to others too and something should be done (if you only knew what options you had).
