It sends a "PLAYBACK_KEYDOWN" event for each key pressed while video is playing, with the paramater of type KeyEventArgs.

Ok, see whether the attached is any good for you or not.

At the moment, it will only toggle the standard audio renderer (videos, live tv, music), and won't do anything with the DVD audio renderer.

To use it, dump it into the plugins directory, then copy/paste - and edit - the following into the PluginSettings section of config.xml:

Code:
<AudioAdjust>
  <Videos>
    <Renderer>[color=red]Default[/color]</Renderer>
    <Renderer>[color=red]HDMI HD Audio Output[/color]</Renderer>
    <Renderer>[color=red]SPDIF Digital Output[/color]</Renderer>
  </Videos>
</AudioAdjust>

You need to provide a list of renderers that you want to toggle through. I've just made up the ones above, but any you include must match the names listed by NPVR when you look at the Decoders tab in Settings. If you're not sure, set it using the GUI, then look at what was written in /Settings/Renderers/AudioRenderer in config.xml - that's the text you want.

To do the actual toggling, make sure a video is playing, then press F4 (the music hotkey). Obviously, restart the video to have the change take effect.

If it's useful, we can discuss taking it further, including DVD options, etc...

Edit: Oh, and don't use this at the same time as ReClockOrNot - I'm pretty sure they won't play nice together, fighting over who gets to set the renderer!

Excellent! Will give this ago later when it's stopped recording and we're not watching anything. I am actually also interested in ReClock for those pesky 24fps mkv's but I'm sure there was something that meant it wouldn't work for me but really cant remember what. I guess that's a question for another thread though! Something about audio decoders?

Woha, you're my hero of the day, imilne! Working like charme, this addon. To stop playback of video and restart is no problem: thanks to subs resume ability of npvr. ;D

Finally switching from 5.1 to Stereo and vice versa without moving from the couch or the bed. Just great. A small little tool with much comfort. =)

I guess it works then Big Grin

So what do we do about DVD audio?

1) Ignore everything DVD related?
2) Have the plugin just apply the exact same settings, so both audio renderers are always in sync?
3) Apply a different set of rules if F4 is pressed while a DVD is playing?
4) ?

Personally, I'd vote for 2), but then I don't actually need this plugin Rolleyes

Hi imilne!
Yes, it works. It works really good. Smile
To your questions ... . Of course i can only talk for myself. I am very sure, that other people have other needs then me.

Meanwhile i don't use dvds anymore. Of course, i could playback them: original dvds, isos; it's all usable. But i don't do so anymore. I transcoded my whole dvd collection to x264/ac3 ; x264/aac lc sbr mkv container.

I would want this plugin within the music library, video library (already done now) and perhaps while watching live tv. So i could do much more with npvr then ever before (as an example: watching tv in the bedroom ... 'oh oh omfg i have to go to toilet 1111elf' *switching with imilnes handy dandy wonder plugin to another renderer and start music from the library ; those can be listened on the toilet*).

But as mentioned before: it's just my opinion. Of course other people could have a big need for dvd/bluray too.

Got this working yesterday and it's great! Very handy! Thanks for taking the time to do this Smile

Personally I'm not so bothered about DVDs as I think I'd always want spdif out for those. However I dont see the harm in option 2 above, so that both are always in sync.

Since this is a wishlist, I'm going to sound like an ungrateful arse and ask the following...Big Grin Would it be possible to have it stop the playback, apply the new renderer and restart playback without having to go back and restart from the menu? I only ask as the WAF value of pressing a single button to get sound out of the telly would be very high...!
