You wont be getting snow on a digital channel. You can only get snow on an analog channel. On digital channels you get picture, or nothing.

Its likely you've import digital channels into your analog capture source that you didnt mean to.

Thanks sub. I'm not sure I would call what I see snow. Random noise was the best I could come up with. I'll see if I can do a screen shot or something.

I'm in the process of upgrading from GBPVR and adding a new machine. I got the first machine up and running on Windows 7 64 with my Hauppauge 1600. The only issue with it is it awakes from Sleep sometimes with NPVR in a downsized window. Figured I'd get around to fixing that eventually.

This machine I'm trying to run without the Hauppauge 150. Unfortunately, I'm getting nothing but random noise out of this MyGica device. It works fine off the Arcsoft software. It seemed to set up fine once I got the Hauppauge SoftPVR installed, but I just see this random noise on playback.

I might have set up the digital side before adding the SoftPVR. Would that explain the problems I'm having with the digital tuner? I'll run back through everything again. I'll probably try it with the 150 as well. If it doesn't work I'll get that screenshot. Thanks again.

Post a screenshot so we know what you're talking about. Either way, "random noise" sounds like something you could only get from an analog tuner.

When I switched from XP to W7 all my analog channels got new numbers, ch57 became ch19 from what I remember. Can you use the old TuningAssistant to search on the analog device?

Thanks for the thought. It is a new install of NPVR. I've not had a chance to work on it for a couple of days since I had to record the games in the meantime Smile. I'm going to try to get a screenshot before doing anything else but it will probably take me a while due to the Thanksgiving Holiday here in the States. Appreciate it much.

Well, I do have snow on my analog channels, but it turns out the HD channels are fine. Something is wrong with the EHome IR Receiver Service which was causing it to max out my CPU. This slowed playback so much the screen was refreshing too slow to show snow or video. Instead, it was alternately green and black with random splotches tossed in. Disabled the receiver service and the HD stuff works fine. Analog should be picking up from S video. The signal is good to the device. I assume I'm overlooking something basic but I'm at a loss to figure it out. Appreciate any thoughts.

Can you capture a screenshot of the details of your analog device setup?

Attached is what I have. I honestly don't know how to return the the initial "device set-up" screen. This is what appears to be available under settings, devices once you set up a device.

You also wont get snow from S-Video. You'd either get picture, or black (sometimes blue). I'm guessing you didnt have the input source to SVideo when you imported your channels, and it default to using the analog tuner.

I looked at your logs from earlier in the thread. It definitely thinks the channels are on the tuner, not the svideo input.
