The next release allows the encoder bitrate/resolution to be controlled. The soft encoding devices are never going to be as good as the hardware encoder devices though (higher quality image, lower CPU usage).

Very good! At least the analog capturecards can be used as a "last resort" for recording a "must have" show when all other tuners are occupied.
