I've downloaded ffdshow_beta7_rev3154_20091209 from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-...e/download installed, re-booted, and now ffdshow audio decoder works for AC3, (and the ffdshow tray icon appears), but I still have the original problem, i.e. I cannot get any sound from an HE-AAC audio stream no matter which decoder is selected for that, even ffdshow. With ffdshow selected for both, I don't get the ffdshow tray icon when the HE-AAC stream is selected, but it stays there if I go to the AC3 stream then back to the HE-AAC stream. In that situation, looking at the ffdshow audio decoder configuration, the codecs page doesn't have an entry for HE-AAC, so no surprise that doesn't work. So it isn't just AC3Filter, it does seem to be that any working AC3 decoder being enabled screws up HE-AAC decoding. (Strangely, having a non-working AC3 decoder enabled doesn't prevent HE-AAC playback).

You pretty much need the Monogram or ArcSoft decoders for HE-AAC. I'm successfully running AC3Filter togather with Monogram HE-AAC decoder, but I'v never had any luck combining ffdshow with other decoders. There are other available decoders that does a equally or better job than ffdshow, what do you need it for? Have you tried HD Pack or SD Pack from http://www.dvbsupport.net/ ?
