Your npvr.log says:
Code:

And your logs from august show, that your installation had already some problems:

And as i mentioned before: You hadn't installed the DirectX runtime as required by NPVR.

I am fairly sure, that this problem isn't to find within npvr. It really sounds like a technical problem; even if other programs may run without error. Have you already took a look in the event viewer (applications and system)? Perhaps wie could find a hint there. Have you already tried a CLEAN new install of NPVR?

Yeah, I did see where it said August and when I go to settings it says 1.5.33. I am running the 1.5.36 set up and this system was just put together at the beginning of Dec. Don't know where august is coming from. If it was direct x not being installed why would it have run for two weeks without any hiccups? And yes, this is a totally clean install. I did use Revo uninstaller to remove 1.5.33, unless it didn't get everything in the registry??

The directx installation isn't absolutely needed for playback. But without this, the menu will rendered in a slowly software mode with much more cpu usage.

I never used revo uninstaller, so i can not say if this piece of software is usefull or not. But i wouldn't recommend using a 3rd party application to do the job of the npvr uninstaller (on my systems this one works fine enough).
The thing is, that i had found different npvr versions in your logfiles. And if the revo uninstaller had left the logfiles on your systems, then the database too was left on your system.

- uninstall the current npvr installation with the windows control panel
- backup and delete manual the folder npvr within "c:\users\public" folder
- reboot your machine

- install latest visual c++ 2008 (x86) runtime
- install latest directx installer
- install npvr

After this, we can minimize the problematic, that something went wrong on earlier upgrades.

Actually the logs from August look like they were accidentally left in the NPVR Setup program.

bnz Wrote:Yeah, I figured as much. I am unable to upload the db3 file as it is too big even zipped (8,351 KB). I deleted it again and restarted NPVR and it recreated it with a size of 75,686 KB.

Delet your npvr.db3 file. The create a copy of your empty.db3 file, and call it npvr.db3. Hopefully it'll then be the same size as empty.db3?

everytime i see that error it's hard drive controller/cable failure or bad hdd controller driver...
being 64bit system i'd try new hd controller driver..try doing a defrag or chkdsk to flush out any instability..

Okay, followed ShiningDragon's advice and deleted the Public/NPVR folder then did the reinstall of everything. No problems getting it up and running this time. Thank you all, I'm back up and watching NPVR on 1.5.36!Cool
