I used to be a HIP bod, then I found IRSS. Glad I kept all of the past downloads though because it did start mis-behaving once it was taken over and made more MP based....

At least you got HIP working but sure you installed the command line options from (my last safest install v.3158) of IRSS?!

cheers

I can't remember if there was a command line option when I did the install but the way I see it command line functions won't work if the blaster isn't sending data the STB recognizes. I had tested the blaster with the translator when I entered in the remote commands.

Hmmm not sure where you are at there Wink

If you used the command line tick box on installation of IRSS then you would/should have IR Blast.

So guess you have that (which I guess you do if you are putting that into NextPVR settings) so still not sure what is not working for you with this.... IR Blast should send data that the STB recognises, fine. If you entered the RC commands via the IR eye and 'learned' them into IRSS Translator OK good. Something must be missing from this equation here but my tired mind can't figure out what it is Big Grin

But as you have HIP working guess it is a no brainer now?

cheers

It's as if the translator can't learn the full code and HIP can but since HIP is working there's no reason to continue to try and get IRSS working.

Cheers

Indeed Sir/Madam Wink

but always good to know why something may not be working Big Grin

But when you run the IRSS translator and learnt commands to test them the red eye (or equiv) blinks on your blaster?

cheers

I'm a male. lol. Yes, I always like to know to why something doesn't work. Yes, when I ran the translator and learnt the commands and tested them the red eye blinked on the blaster.

Yes absolutely, though you may now have HIP working I am v interested why you could not get IRSS working...

If you were up to the stage of getting the translator to learn the commands then the only place left would be with how it was handled within NextPVR?

what were the parameters you put into the blast option of NextPVR?

cheers

With 1.4.2.4290 having been mentioned by BTJustice in a new thread I tried again to get IRSS working. I still couldn't get the Directv receivers to show that any commands were being sent from the MCE Blaster. Since BTJustice has it working with Directv, Win7 64bit, and and MCE Blaster I figured I should be able to get it to work too. However I have WinXP. So then I tried it with a laptop that has Win7 64-bit. I was able to get port 2 to consistently blast and Directv showed the key being received. So, for some reason it works ok with Win7 but not WinXP for blasting a Directv receiver. It seems it might be an issue with a combination of a driver issue with the MCE driver for WinXP and Directv IR signals. Unless there is someone else that has WinXP, MCE blaster, and Directv and is able to change channels.

According to a HIP thread it can't be used with Win7 64Bit http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?showtopic=12003 and I want to upgrade to Win7 in order to get rid of screen tearing I get with panning. At this point I guess I can go with Win7 64bit and use IRSS port 2 and haupblast simultaneously or I can go with Win7 32bit and continue with HIP. Any reason I should prefer 64bit over 32bit?
