I had this problem and there are 3 files that need to be updated. The problem was fixed in the last Version Created for XP Media Center Edition. Unfortunatly SP3 Switched it back to the Main XP branch without the Fix. So You have to go to the last version from MC. After figuring this out for myself I found the Mediaportal people had the same issuse and created a patch here

Install it then reboot and the psisdecd.dll errors should go away. This is only for XP users.

Rather then just the file, I believe it important to have the whole link on MediaPortal. This is one that people need to pay attention to the installation and attention guidelines.

I suppose. I usually just read the readme file... but you gotta love the HTML formatting on your link :-P

Glee recorded OK from 7-8, though it is reported as failed and 'Recording service not running at recording time' . (The .ts file plays OK.)

'V' completely failed (8-9) and also reported as failed (10 seconds of video actual recorded).

This is my first week with NPVR (2.03). I've had a dozen successful recordings this week before this happened. Is this a possible XP sp3 patch issue mentioned above, or is there something wrong with the installation? vcredist_x86.exe and dxwebsetup.exe loaded before NPVR.

You might try the patch. DirectX will revert the patch so you would need to reinstall the patch if you had it before.

Well for peanut this has fixed the problem for a number of days (way more than it would ever do before the fix) & a lot of testing so all is looking good so thanks sub, BrainStormer & Martin.

I have a feeling this fix maybe a needed fix for a lot of XP systems & we were just lucky that it threw the BIG error & produced the dump log to point out the problem, as prior to that nothing showed in the logs when it failed it just randomly stopped recording.

Is psisdecd.dll from Windows XP? What version should I replace it with? I may just wipe it, but first I am going to try to rid my system of it first and then reinstall. Can you tell me what file/s control the channel info and schedules direct channel settings? The rest is not a big deal to set up again. Are there any registry keys to look out for?

This discussion is about XP, not W7. I'v been running npvr on W7x64 and x86 for a long time now and never encountered similar problem so I don't think there is a need to replace the dll on W7.
