This morning all of the genre colors and extra data are gone. It seems that xmltvextras in postupdateepg.bat did not run after epg update last night. I just manually ran postupdateepg.bat and it ran (took a good 10 minutes I think) and all of the extra data is back in.

How can I confirm that postupdateepg.bat has run after epg update?

Quote:Regarding schedules direct, does it produce xmltv data, and is your npvr epg source "Schedules Direct" or "XMLTV"?
My npvr data source is xmltv. My xmltv files are created using I-xmltv, an enhancer program which downloads and enhances data from my Schedules Direct account.
What, me worry?

I had the same issue. I have a sneaking suspicion the file should be called postepgupdate.bat. I am testing this out now.

try adding this line to the bat file
echo %date% %time% - running postepgupdate.bat >> postepgupdate.log

Thanks for the echo line, that does work to create the log file when I manually run the bat, and confirms that the bat is not running after epg update ( I tried both file names). I'll post in the support forum about it.

I made batch files with both names for last night. Neither ran, per my post in the support thread.

Hi Alibert: TV Recordings doesn't appear to detect the presence of <showname>.mpg, avi etc if the original showname cannot be found. I can't recall if your recordings screen has ever done this but this is a neat (and for me very important) feature that Sub added to the default recordings screen some years ago.

FYI: NPVR records in .ts format but I convert the file to mpeg as it streams better over my wireless network and it also takes up less space.

Hi,

I'm trying to add detection of renamed video files for the next release.

Regarding the "PostUpdateEPG.bat" file: as far as I know, the correct filename is "PostUpdateEPG.bat", and it needs to be placed in the "Scripts" subdirectory of the npvr data directory.

thanks Alibert. I look forward to an update at some point in the future.

The issue with PostUpdateEPG.bat not running was due to the fact that only npvr calls this script after EPG update. the EPG update in the "system" plugin doesn't call it.

I thought johnsonx42 and sub confirmed here that PostUpdateEPG.bat was called whenever EPG update was done, even from system plugin. Did you find differently?

Mine still does not run either way, but I haven't been able to look into it yet. User account permission was suggested as a possible cause. Were you able to get it running automatically?

ah sorry I clearly mis-read what sub was saying and in fact PostupdateEPG.bat runs for me fine whether from system plugin or via recording service.
If yours runs fine (without error) when you run it manually but never runs from the recording service, it must be the credentials that the service is running with. When you look in services, NPVR recording services, log on tab, mine is set to local account and (importantly I believe) interact with desktop.

I'll just throw this out as an option: if all else fails, since xmltvextras is fairly independent and does an incremental update to the TV Listings database, run it with Windows Task Scheduler.
