yea, i'd do a complete re-install of windows first...your direct3d environment is broken...no Nlite'd installs tho...as it can leave out critical components..
does device manager have any probelm devices or devices without driver?

BTW, this issue is normal if you connect using remote desktop - is not that your case?

just a punt: what about making you have the latest windows media player installed?

Ok new logs.

No warnings in device manager, not using remote desktop and wmp is latest/up to date (even though I don't use it Wink)

Have a feeling it's just a borked install and a reinstall will sort it.. unless you can discover something in the logs hoborg.

Reregisterfilters.bat and a reboot... or install latest directx and reboot (google it)?

Yes and yes.

I'm going to reinstall windows then, it looks like the only option now. Thanks everyone for your help, I'll report back again after a reinstall.

Well I spoke too soon, can't get the channels mapped for one reason or another and picture is just black again.

Is there any reason why i can't copy over the gbpvr install folder from my old install to the new one? it's all setup and working perfect on my old motherboard.

I tried nPVR but sound isn't working on live tv, although it is on the .ts files when playing them in MPC.

I like gbpvr a lot but for me it's a nightmare to setup initially, always takes a while but once setup it's brilliant, this time it's proving impossible though, getting really frustrated now. 5 days on.

This will almost certainly relate to the decoders you have selected in the Settings -> Decoders screen. If you post your logs (in the npvr forum), I'll take a look.

To be fair, most people dont have these problems you're encountering. The majority of that time sounds like it was spent trying to work out what was broken about VMR on your machine. This wasnt a GBPVR problem, but something broken on your Windows install.
