Actually UJB includes the path with the files so you extract it into

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\NPVR

I tested this and it works for me.

Hello Martin,

Yes....I inserted into the correct directory, and the existing 2 files with the same name were replaced -- another good sign it was correct. The functionality was improved as the dialog boxes/popup for the recording now reflect the recurring schedule. However, what is still not happening is there is no pending/ (ad: XX/XX/2011) entry created for the recurring recording, as there is for a future single recording or recurring recording through the native GUI. Consequently, the issue is still there. Clicking on the recurring recording and attempting to modify it doesn't cause a crash like it did before, another improvement.

Something I am doing wrong? Thanks very much.

I think you are right, I cant seem to to a manual recurring recording when the EPG has no data.

UJB< This doesn't return potential recordings probably because the ChannelOID isn't even in the table.

Code:
<EPGTitle></EPGTitle>
  <ChannelOID>7030</ChannelOID>
  <ChannelName>CKCU</ChannelName>
  <StartTime>2011-03-18T19:00:00.0000000Z</StartTime>
  <EndTime>2011-03-19T08:00:00.0000000Z</EndTime>
  <PrePadding>0</PrePadding>
  <PostPadding>0</PostPadding>
  <Quality>0</Quality>
  <Keep>0</Keep>
  <Days>MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY</Days>
  <TimeslotStart>2011-03-18T17:30:00.0000000Z</TimeslotStart>
  <TimeslotEnd>2011-03-18T20:30:00.0000000Z</TimeslotEnd>
</Rules>

@jt25741 try the attached update to see if if helps. If is only temporary until UJB has a chance to look at it, and it will break things if you ever get guide data, but I tested it lightly and it creates and records manual recordings for me. Even though the manual recording title says optional I would use it to identify the show.

Put the file in
Code:
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\NPVR\web\App_Code\Classes\"

and restart the NPVR Recording Service

Hello Martin,

You are great.....I cannot thank you enough for your help. I will give this one a try if it makes sense.... . Based on your elaboration of the problem earlier, that this issue only occurs without EPG data in place, and the fact that not many people will run in this state.... this compelled me to setup EPG last night with MC2XML, which was pretty straight forward. A few anomalies I need to work out. I am still liking the ability to record recurring manual recordings via the EWA. Based on this fact, it would seem this patch will be unnecessary -- or not provide any value as I have EPG Data, correct? I still need to retry manual recurring recording over the EWA, now that I have XMLTV EPG data, and verify it is OK -- as it was for you guys.

Anyways....I want to buy you a few beers, a pizza, or something or help you out in any way I can. Sorry I am not a developer, so I cannot help in that regard --- I will be donating to this project, as clearly this is what I will be using, and I will continue to do so as I use it into the future.

Thanks again Martin and team, for everything! Without you...I would have given up on NPVR a long time ago....in error.

On a side note.... My DirectX Problem.... I did install the runtime libraries DirectX as described in the forum links.... but unfortuantely NPVR still gives me a the red letter warning that no DirectX can be found, using software rendering. My system uses the 82945G Integrated GPU Motherboard -- who's Intel driver status clearly recognizes the DirectX 9 libraries in its own status window. I have read other other issues/posts of NPVR not properly recognizing integrated GPUs. I performed reinstall npvr over existing installation, which apparently triggered an "upgrade" installation as I was watching the install scripts. But unfortunately, this did not correct the problem either. The only practical downside of this issue for me (that I can think of) is that I cannot use the native GUI interface for navigate and TV scheduling(exceedingly slow on my Atom330). Since I am using the PCH for rendering video, local performance for video doesn't matter for playback. Yet, it would be nice to be able to run the native GUI without being prohibitively slow. Since the EWA seems functional enough...I don't see too much issue for me here. Yet if you have any ideas.....I obviously highly value them.

Graciously,

Jim

Hi Jim, thanks I am happy enough enjoying the virtual pizza and beer.

No it doesn't make this patch would only be if you didn't have EPG data. I'm glad you found out about EPG data it makes the whole PVR experience better.

I don't have a dedicated video card and I use DirectShow with the G965 and my Atom 330 Ion so the problem is not really an IGP problem.

Of course, next you should try running NPVR on the NMT itself. Follow the steps in the dummies guide and don't spend a lot of time trying things, ask quesitons instead.

Martin....I am trying to figure out what is different from the call that was there compared to the two calls you replaced it with.....in my call I am passing in the EPGEvent object and in your call you are passing in each of the epgevent. properties (from the same EPGEvent object I am passing in) (i.e start, end, channel, etc.) the call whith passing in the object should work just like the call you are doing.

The difference is how NPVR interprets the call. The changed function will not add <EPGTiltle/> into <Rules/> which matches how NPVR creates manual recurring recordings. Instead the title that is used in this call is used as the name in the scheduled_recording table.

Overall I don't know if an Empty EPG is a valid condition.....is NPVR meant to be used without a loaded EPG? If so, then I need to figure out a way to handle it if the first patch I posted did not help. If not, really wouldn't want to fix something that isn't broke to begin with. Smile

If you want to schedule a manual recording you shouldnt be calling the recording API that takes an EPGEvent. Instead you need to use one of the others that just takes a name etc (name used for the resulting filename, not the name to look for in the EPG).
