File not deleted when the “Recording” is deleted

If you dont put files in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Media\Shows, then they wont be copied to folder.jpg.

right, but I though somewhere along the way the idea was to keep the image only in the media/shows folder, and not have it moved to the recording folder; that way when the last/only recording of a show is deleted, the folder goes with it so you don't end up with umpteen million folders for every show you ever recorded. I thought you put in a change to that effect a couple of releases ago.

In at least the last release (maybe further back, I'm not sure), NPVR would copy over the .jpg file, but would name it with the full recording name and the .jpg extension. Then when it deleted a specific recording, it would delete that .jpg. And, after all of the recordings in a folder were deleted, it would delete the (now) empty folder. For some reason, the latest version (2.2.6) has reverted to earlier behavior of coping the media/shows folder image into the folder.jpg file which never gets deleted automatically.

ok, I knew something had changed, but wasn't sure what. so maybe the fix we really need is to just have it delete the folder.jpg file when the last recording is gone. I assume other software (non-npvr) that we might use to view a recording file over the network might be able to use the folder.jpg, whereas it couldn't possibly know to go looking in the npvr/media/shows folder.

No, but it could look for the file with same name but the .jpg extension. That solution seemed pretty good. I also sort of liked that idea because, at least in theory, you could have different, episode specific images for each recording.
