To be fair, Sagetvs stock user interface up until version 7 was ugly, many of the visual enhancements now are from from 3rd party developers. Yes Sagetv supports R5000HD but seeing outside of Canada and the U.S. no one uses R5000HD converted receivers, you can't really expect support in a PVR program from New Zealand.

Quote:1. Native support for BD disc, ripped BD folder, and BD ISO playback. There are several HTPC enthusiasts who have large BD libraries in the form of ripped folders or ISO's. SageTV can playback BD discs, ripped folders, and even ISO's automatically and invisibly mounting/dismounting ISOs; and, best of all... can be played back on any client on the LAN; including sageTV hardware extenders (HD100, HD200, HD300). The only thing needed to do install Slysoft "Virtual CloneDrive" and the HTPC's enthusiasts' must-have tool, AnyDVD-HD (no configuration necessary).

2. HD audio (DTS-MA/HD and True-HD) is fully supported for bluray movies as long as Arcsoft audio filters are installed . All audio formats are fully supported via bitstreamed using sageTV hardware extenders.
With a small change to the default config.xml, you can select the index.bdmv file from a Bluray Disc and play the movie as long as LAV filters (or other appropriate filters) are installed.
I've been working on a plugin that will download posters/metadata when you insert a disc (DVD/Bluray/HD DVD) and give you the option to Play or Rip the disc. I do need to get with Martin about how it will work on the extenders for seemless branched titles.

Hopefully I'll be able to integrate that into my plugin (if I ever get back to working on it). A main menu option that does something similar with physical blu-ray discs would be nice too, perhaps eventually with a GUI to pick the file to play. On that topic sub, how does the main menu's DVD option differ from what the Videos plugin does? Is it basically the same, with a forced path to the drive rather than a folder?

Yes, pretty much.

I can add some command line options to imageGrabLite so you can run it or turn it into a dll if you'd like It does a pretty good job of getting metadata/art from themoviedb.org and also tv series info from tvdb and tvrage.

I've been meaning to try this for quite a while. I installed my copy of AnyDVD-HD, updated the config.xml and what do you know - it played beautifully. Cool.

I've now updated the Config-master-dont-edit.xml to include bdvm. I've also updated the 'DVD' button on the main menu to also work for Blu-Ray.

In the Folder View (right side pic), I see you have the image and the description. On my current setup, I only get the image (folder.jpg), but not the data. If I go into the folder and hi-light the movie file, data from the mymovies.xml is displayed.
What is the equivalent of folder.xml?

The utilities I've used for grabbing metadata and artwork create either a movie.nfo or tvshow.nfo file in the directory, so the app looks that. From memory it'll also look for an xml file with the same name as the directory. For example, if the directory is "IceAge3" then it'll look for "IceAge3.xml" in that directory.

What would be the schema for that XML? I tried the one here http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...eoMetadata
and it doesn't show up. Again, just the folder.jpg showing. Although the [moviename].xml is over-riding the mymovies.xml
I am using the default skin on the PC, if that makes any difference.
Thanks
