I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but if I have one more vacant USB port, I think I'm gonna plug the MCE reciever back in and just use the USB-UIRT to transmit. The MCE remote with it's own reciever worked perfect. I think maybe the USB-UIRT is too sensitve... I used girder to program a button to launch GB and when I press it, it fires up 4 instances ... That could be why the remote quits working in GB... just gets too many requests at once and maybe thinks its messed up so it shuts it off. I dunno. Anyway, if a fix is found, maybe I'll try it again to reduce clutter of recievers [Image: smile.gif]

RE my last post:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]However, I don't think I've seen it quit while using the Hauppauge remote...I haven't done as extensive testing with the Hauppauge because I was interested in using the URC-6131 remote.  I can try and do some more testing of the Hauppauge tonight.

I have tried the Hauppauge in the input/output mode and it gives the same error.  If I leave the USB-UIRT in as the channel changer under capture sources, but change to the Hauppauge under the 'Remote control type' on the Misc tab, then I can move up and down through the menus and on screen guide....but I can't change the channel on the cable box via the USB-UIRT.

So this seems to be something that is only happening when the USB-UIRT is in input/output mode.

Does anyone think the beta API that is supposed to help with the infamous 'double digit same number channels' would help with this issue?

To be honest, I havn't look into this problem at all. I've been busy with other stuff.

I suspect its a problem with the USB-UIRT drivers being used for both input and output.

I now have the MCE receiving from my remote and using the USB-UIRT for just transmitting to my Dish box. That seems to work fine. I'd rather just use the USB-UIRT for both though.

I have gotten past this by using Girder.  How ever Girder is handling the USB-UIRT plugin, in my non-programmer way of thinking, it is handling it differently than GB-PVR.

I think it would be a good idea if this was addressed somehow, but I realize that there are workarounds so it can be a low priority issue to address.

I would rather access it natively through GB-PVR than rely on a third party program....this is mainly because having Girder in play is just one more program that can go wrong and cause the wife problems.

This happens to me to. Seems to happen intermittently when in menu. The USB-UIRT light still flashes when I use the remote, so it definitely receives the signal okay.

I can remote control the pc okay, so it definitely has not hung. I can shut down GBPVR, restart and then the IR works.

So it would suggest to me its a GBPVR problem.

I too have been having this problem (but infrequently) since the latest release. At first I thought it was just a driver or corrupt installation problem, but I've since done a complete format and re-install with the latest 'everything', so I'm fairly sure it isn't that. I even 'accused' the wife of putting something ornamental in front of the digibox that might have been stopping the UIRT flash

I'm only using the USB-UIRT as a 'blaster' to change channels on my UK Sky Digibox, but occasionally it just stops sending, although it still flashes when any IR device is used in the vicinity (tv/sky/vcr/dvd/pc remotes).

When it happens, I re-start the GBPVRRecordingService and everything is fine again.

It is annoying, as I've missed a few recordings because of it (as it recorded whatever chanell was last being watched instead of the one it should have been recording).

I'm also using the latest USB-UIRT drivers.

As far as I can tell, it only happens after I've been watching Live TV in preview mode, having changed channels a few times. I've taken to re-starting the recording service at the first opportune moment after watching Live TV just as a precaution and haven't lost any recordings since.

Thought I'd just post this followup. I've just been watching some recordings, this being the first GBPVR activity after the last time the recording service was restarted, and then tried to watch Live TV - presto - USBUIRT not transmitting.

Restarted recording service - all now OK.

Wierd huh? [Image: rock.gif]

I picked up the Hauppauge remote from their webstore and configured it in GBPVR using the USBUIRT as the receiver (the Hauppauge cards I have --- 150MCE --- don't have IR inputs).

I found that it works fine until I send a command that doesn't apply to the current GBPVR function. For example if there is no place for a "Cursor Right". Once this happens the remote no longer has any effect on GBPVR. I can navigate with the keyboard but the remote does nothing --- the USBUIRT LED blinks with the IR command but GBPVR does nothing.
