What I would suggest at this stage (a repository for skins/pligins) hosted on the GBPVR server. If dev's don't want to participate no problem.

This should not involve sub, at this point, but at some point we would hope it becomes part of the standard NextPVR download?

Sorry, no. As I mentioned, this is the type of thing I'd need to do myself, and isnt well suited to be developed as a plugin.

OK thanks sub. Case closed then. No integration of skins and plugins in the foreseeable future, is how I would read that?

cheers

I've personally got no beef with people trying to roll their own solution if they prefer, but I wont be including it with the application. I have hopes of licensing components or an SDK to other companies in the future, to help fund the application, and to hopefully earn a few dollars, and its very important that I retain tight control over the ownership of the IP in the application and things it depends on to function.

No. You should read it as - we wont have a integrated screen for downloading/installing skins and plugins in the near future, but maybe in the future build when more time is available.

For a change I have nothing to say, apart from obviously I have something to say Big Grin

How on earth you think that you will be licensing any components of this...

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Are you saying you dont think NPVR is good enough for anyone to want to license it?

Or are you saying you think I'm trying to license other people's skins/plugins? This is obviously not what I'm saying. A screen for installing optional features could obviously be used for more than just plugins or skins written by the community.

Or are you saying something else entirely?
