I haven't got time right now to load it up and try you database, but can you give me a general description of what didnt match? Was it many channels, and was there something obvious about these channels that caused them not to map? Were those channels listed in the drop down list of schedules direct mapping options?

My bad! I was hurriedly testing last night because I had a scheduled recording for my production system that needed the DCR-2650 coming up.

Upon review this morning, I realized that the channels which didn't match were ones that aren't part of my cable subscription plan (or are duplicate virtual channels). I had removed them from my Schedules Direct lineup to reduce the file size of the nightly EPG XMLTV download. :eek: When I get a chance, I'll try rerunning the process with the complete SD lineup.

There is still the issue of the first channel (which I manually set to initiate the process) not being processed and saved by the bulk map process. From the log:

Now that you have a mechanism for detecting the current copy protection flags for a tuned channel on the DCR-2650, can you implement the right button context menu option "Disable Encrypted Channels" on the Device Setup | Scan found channels listing form? Obviously it will take a little time for it to go through the entire channel list, tune to the channel, wait for the flag to be set, and then check the flag. However, doing it programmatically rather than making the user go through the entire list and manually test/select/unselect each channel would be a great improvement.

I dont have any way to know which channels are encrypted at scan time. I only have a list of channel names and numbers. The only way I can tell if it is encrypted is to watch the channels for a few seconds. It's not practical to try doing that behind the scenes for hundreds of channels - it'd take forever. I'd long since decided it wouldnt be worth doing that.

The encryption flags can also change over time, or by show if they wanted to.
