I still don't recommend wireless streaming of HD.

My concern would be for what it takes to get into the NPVR interface not being consistent between the different devices (i.e. the default look of the device's menu and how you launch the NPVR interface from there being different).

Do these devices allow you to skip ahead and back a few configured seconds when watching recordings from the NPVR interface? Do they show the same NPVR OSD "time bar" during video playback or do they show whatever the device has? For the Egreat m34a specifically, does anyone know if it supports DTS MA passthrough for MKV? What about getting the latest firmware since the Egreat website seems to be gone (at least the U.S. version)? Thanks.

That's a challenge, but if you put a hard disk in an NMT it can be done on power on. I don't know how I'd do it with the MVP-HD

Yes and yes, some video linked here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post413559 This is what I;d like to see on the MVP-HD too. However this UI is only available on mpeg ps/ts files. Otherwise on the NMT's mvpmcx2 launches the native player, for the MVP-HD you might be on your own with mkv's etc, using their software or another means.

Yes. The first gen A100 NMT's did not but the Egreats and A110's do.

Their latest and the PCH latest are different but there are links. Some cross flash it.

I guess that depends how you use them....., for me using my autoload script (it's on the wiki) & the way we put them into standby (also explained on the wiki) & the way we 98% only use them for NextPVR viewing, I only really see the same menu (one of the left images in the attached jpg) on all the devices as it starts to auto load, so they all look the same & load the same almost all the time. But even the native interfaces aren't all that different & most things are exactly the same on all the different devices I have.... Oh BTW I was wrong in my message yesterday I have 2xm34a's & only 1xA110

I'd certainly be interested in the MVP-HD as an NPVR extender.

Since I'm slowly being pulled, kicking and screaming, into the digital HDTV age then an MVP-HD extender sounds awesome. While our old MVP's are sometimes temperamental, the WAF (and kids too!) has been excellent over the years.

Ditto the last two comments. Still using 1.4.7 and two MVPs here. Interested in whatever extender proves to be widely available and can have NPVR interface on it.

Although I don't think I can fully deliver what you guys are looking for I'll definitely look into it more. One of the reasons I asked was that I have a MVP-HD that Hauppauge sent me (for you really) but it was DOA after the boot loader. Since there was some interest I contacted my contact at Hauppauge who is going to send me another one. My contact is very open and they are interested in the GBPVR/NextPVR and SageTV market not just MCE.
