using more than 2 PCI slots? anyone who knows how to get more PCI slots?

Kinda pricey though.

There are plenty with 3 PCI slots, though none are MicroATX.

wow, I just noticed that Jetway board I linked to has TEN(!) COM ports. 10. Must be an industrial board. Jetway makes a lot of very interesting (or crazy, depending on how you look at them) boards.

Haha, I'm dumping my PCI cards and go for PCI-e and USB ones.
I don't want PCI cards to limit my PC upgrade choice in the future.

ok I missed that the riser needed 3 PCI..

I think I will go with some card with 3 PCI since it seems as you say to be quite a few ATX ones.

I want to keep my PVR150 and have 2 new 2 DVB-C PCI cards so I need PCI...

I guess in 4 years or so I will change again and also change PC HW and then I may have to change from PCI.

also been meaning to add in the last 24 hours but now only got the chance.

I thought a PCI riser card was going to solve an issue I had.

I bought a 2 slot riser. Theoretically is should have provided me with 2 PCI slots when I had only one before (of course sharing the same bandwidth)

It came with some very very basic instructions (that I thought I had understood) and I may not consider myself an expert hardware builder, but not bad, the end result was that I fried my motherboard!

I totally understand keeping with PCI if you have a budget.

All my cards are PCI, (well and a USB and 2 x Firewires). I have not even considered the PCI-E route etc though I have computers in the house that could take them, it is all more money at the end of the day.....

Have you looked at Martin's (mvallevand's Network Recorder as a possible solution if you need more devices available?)

Now looked briefly - if I understand correctly this plugin would allow me to use a tuner on my old PC with my old PCI cards and still control the recording from my master NVPR?

This could be useful and would let me possibility to use my old PCI devices - I will try it after setting up my new computer with the new tuners thanks for info.

why not just set the old pc up as a headless server and use the new pc as a client then
Only issue with older machines is they do use a bit more power
