It seems, that at this time it is not playing back problem at all. It is recorded with out of sync. Audio is about 1.8 sec ahead. It can't play back right with any palyer or any renderer setup (or reclock).
Previously it was only Npvr play back issue, all other players did it just right.
All recordings made by 2.3.6 have same issue, 2.2.6 and prev recordings are fine.

Yep, and time difference isn't linear, so it can't fix by transcoding audio delayed.

There is absolutely nothing different about digital recordings in 2.3.6 vs 2.2.6. They're both just bit for bit dumps of what the broadcaster transmits. NextPVR doesnt tweak them in any way.

does it playback wrong with VLC (which contains it's own decoders)?
Does it playback wrong with VLC on another computer?

The problem is almost certainly outside npvr.

I was also dealing with an audio sync problem after I moved to the Monogram decoder as recommended for a pause/ff latency issues I was getting. The sync issue was so bad that I had to reinstall the AC3 decoder which was removed from the SAF6 filter package setup. With ffdshow video decoders, and the AC3 audio decoders, I no longer have the sync problems. The pause/ff issues are working better, but things change from day to day, so we shall see how this thing works tomorrow. I have been tinkering with the Win7 tweak tool, which I do not fully understand. I have also disabled decoders within npvr decoder config that are not used.

I have not installed any patches since the latest release and am cautious to do so. With this new setup I do not want to introduce new problems in trying to figure out prior ones. Advice?

Yes and yes. Thats odd, because only recordings made after Npvr update are broken.

vlc is certainly not the best ts player out there. Maybe cut a 50 MB chunk and put it on mediafire or some other upload site, and post a link.

but you have problems with recordings < 2.3.6. and you converted then to mpeg to fix this. so there has always been some kind of problem.
I am not aware of anyone else every had to do this on any version of gbpvr/npvr.

so, just to be clear:
prior to 2.3.6. you had audio sync problems but you got around them by transcoding .ts to mpeg and they worked ok.
Now you are running 2.3.6. the audio on your recordings is 1.8 seconds ahead and converting to .mpg doesn;t fix it.
it is definitely the recording and not the decoder as the problem is still there with VLC
if is not the hardware causing a playback problem as you see the same problem on a completely different PC?
yes?

what tuner do you have?
have you checked for updated drivers for the tuner?
did this tuner come with any software that you could use to see if the problem exists outside of npvr?
maybe upload an nrecord.log so Sub/someone can see if there is an obvious problem.

Off topic: Seeing your location reminded me that next week will be exactly one year since I was in Saariselkä. What a great time I had. I wish I was back there now.

This earlier problem was only watching .ts files with Npvr. All other players, including Gbpvr, handled same files without any problem. Transcoding to mpg with ffmpeg fixed this and
Npvr played them ok, even with non default audio renderer.

Yes. But now, after I disabled postprocessing transcoding, new .ts files are ok. Unfortunately there is now many recorded (and transcoded, .ts deleted) shows, what I would like to watch.
No any player can play these files right.
Something was different after Npvr update, no any other change or any new software in computer.

Why this has would be any meaning now, when current setup was worked nine months? Anyhow, old tuner model, hardly to see any new drivers anymore.
And, what is most important, new .ts files are timed correctly, after I removed postpocessing.bat. Only already converted shows are unwatchable.
This kind of unreliability is still not very desirable feature.

Nice to hear, that you liked. Welcome back some day. Just now there is very fresh weather, when we, more souther, have -30 degrees Celsius in outside.

Rather than a NextPVR problem, its sounding more like a problem with whatever process you were using for transcoding .ts files.

Maybe your stations are broadcasting h264 now? These cannot easily be converted to mpeg-ps.
