Forcing aspect ratio in analog recordings

I would have thought that the settings would be in a key named NDigitalHost.exe, since that's the process that does the recording now? Or are the settings somehow all unified under the NextPVR.exe name even though previously NRecord and now NDigitalHost actually build the graphs? I don't know anything, I'm just guessing out loud.

I read it that you are confirming that any changes in this registry key should be respected in recordings through NPVR?

To be honest, I have no idea. I've never used any of these registry settings. Reading your post I assumed MainConcept would reload these setings from the registry.

I also remember in GBPVR that encoder graphs were produced by default and would have confirmed settings used but NPVR does not do this.

GBPVR didnt support software encoding devices until about the very last release, and then it was just the same. ie, just hookup the MainConcept encoder and relied on whatever defaults it provided by the encoder.

NDigitalHost.exe is only used for digital recordings. He is interested in analog.

Yeah, encoder settings should be under nrecord.exe, not nextpvr.exe

Right thanks, I'll have another play after renaming the key again to NRecord.exe. I'd really like to solve this to improve the analog recording quality from my STB.

Can't get it working so I guess I'm back to the old PVR150 which deinterlaces the recording by default. It seems that any changed encoder properties in the registry have no effect on NPVR recordings. Shame as the software encoder was very good quality and seemed in many ways (except for not deinterlacing) better than the ageing hardware encoder in the PVR150. Also tried the ATI AVIVO encoder without any luck, but I guess the SoftPVR (Mainconcept) one is the only one NPVR uses.
