I suppose this is akin to the american Mayonnaise vs. Miracle Whip debate. I'm from a Mayonnaise family, but married into a Miracle Whip family. My father-in-law was trying to convert me up 'til the day he died. At least I have my sons clear on the point that Mayonnaise is good and Miracle Whip is this weird stuff Mommy eats, and is probably poison!

There's Marmite (NZ version), Marmite/ProMite/Bovril (that are all UK) and Vegemite that is Australian. People are pretty polarised (if they like any of it at all) which one they prefer. Seems a bit strange to me that one of our largest foods manufacturers (for cereals etc) has a single site manufacturing capability - for this particular product. But oh well.

Apparently Hershey is some form of "chocolate" but last time I tried it, it didn't actually appear to have any actual chocolate (as in cocoa) in it at all! Cheese: If you can squeeze it onto a toothbrush, it isn't cheese. Cheese should smell cheesy, except in France where it will probably smell of old socks with a slight whiff of ammonia. It genuinely is one of those things that you either love or hate - there doesn't seem to be an in-between. In fact they turned that into their marketing campaign. http://www.marmite.com/ Am I starting to detect more than a hint of 'Soylent Green' in this thread... Put your hand up if you didn;t need to google that.
