Ok, that's progress at least.

H.264 decoder are not as interchangeabale as MPEG2 decoders. The only decoders I'd recommend for H.264 are the Arcsoft, Cyberlink and Microsoft decoders.

k, got it working with ffdshow,
turns out in ffdshow settings MPEG2 was set to libmpeg2, i set it to libavcodec and now it shows image (i think that was the one, i changed two or three more).
Now its working fine
And yes, i had arcsoft in the previous w7 and i was using that one, but i didnt want to have to install it now.

ps: just got a messagebox error while viewing a channel saying "error cant divide by zero" lol, will let u know if this happens more often and check the log.
