What possible "improvements" can Microsoft offer to an OS that's several years old? I shut that update crap down, as soon as I had everything working correctly.

Can you stick a "dummy" filter in between the demux and decoder, like that infinite pin T-filter? At least I think that one can be used as a do-nothing filter...

Lots of security updates come out. On my main system, I don't do automatic updates, just because, but if you are open to the Internet, you probably should check for important updates on a regular basis.
mvallevand Wrote:I tried creating a graph using the NPVR TS Reader2 and I cannot connect the mpeg-2 demux that NextPVR uses to the microsoft decoder, I get an error 0x80040200 I can use the decoder in some graphs so it is not not 100% locked.
Can you build an H.264 graph that still connects with this decoder and plays?
Unfortunately I've got Win8 on my development machine these days, so I cant easily test this.
I'm fairly sure this patch appeared in Windows Update, but I didn't install it because of this thread. I thought I would now (after taking a backup) so I could help test stuff, but it doesn't appear to be there anymore. Did I only imagine it being in WU?
I think this is in optional updates - 'Platform Update for Windows x64 Edition (KB2670838)'
Direct2D
DirectWrite
Direct3D
Windows Imaging Component (WIC)
Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform (WARP)
Windows Animation Manager (WAM)
XPS Document API
