vbtalent Wrote:So, after making the changes to the channels and setting them to use XMLTV (thanks) for the source, I manually ran a refresh so the new data would pull and I had mixed results.

The EPG was updated but the channels and the programming were not matched correctly.

"The Golf Channel" doesn't broadcast hockey... er at least the last time I looked. :-)
The only reason that would happen is if the channel was mapped to the wrong channel in your xmltv file. You back into the channel settings and make sure it's mapped correctly.

If you're sure it's mapped correctly, then I'm guessing your xmltv file has somehow got the wrong listings for the channel - otherwise we'd see other people reporting this issue.

Looks like you have many Unknown channels. If necessary, you can change the upper channel name in Channel Details so that it matches the TVGUIDE file, which might require watching the channel to figure out what it is. (Got AC3 audio working?) You might even want to change channel numbers so that they agree with your cable provider's channel lineup - particularly if you have a TV connected to one of their boxes, in order to avoid confusion.

[Edit] Of course it's very important to select the right channel lineup when you first run mc2xml, after entering your zip code and country. "If you select the wrong lineup delete mc2xml.dat and try again."

Is there a way to start clean with the channel mapping? I'm guessing I might have the DB in a shambles...

Is it as simple as just deleting the channels and re-scanning?

Thanks,

Yep, you can do that, or delete the npvr.db3 and restart the app and it'll create a new empty database.

OK, great.

So basically, after the DB dump, scan the device then set the source to XMLTV then map the channels using the TVGUIDE.xml, correct?

hmmm ... same problem.. maybe it has to do with the same channel number for different channel id's?

It should be ok as long as there isn't multiple channels with the id 'I35.28461444.microsoft.com' (The Golf Channel).

Why is there so many channels with number 35 though? I'm not really familiar with mc2xml. Are you sure you've select your correct lineup?

Yes, I just checked all the lineups and the one I chose is closest to mine.

I can't answer why there are multiple channel number "35", seems to be a Microsoft thing or maybe a mc2xml issue?
