Yeah, I think Martin might be right and your set top box is turning off in the evenings if it thinks it's not being used. Those log lines are effectively saying the Colossus is detecting no signal.
Game of Thrones, etc are HBO, or Showtime, right? Maybe your STB doesn't output these premium channels on the component out. You are subscribed for these, right?
What STB do you have? How are you changing channels on it? If it has firewire, you could maybe use it to change channels, and then use SageChanger which has a feature to turn on the box when a channel change is requested. Or, you should be able to enter your STB setup and change the standby/sleep settings.

I will double check if the STB turns off but i don't think so because a few times i attempt a recording after i check that live tv actually see's a signal... i then turn off live tv and schedule the recording but it fails.
I am scheduled to these, I am able to record the premium channels on Component out any other day of the week, but sometimes it is a hit and miss. I uninstalled npvr and deleted everything and re-installed and re-setup everything... i hope maybe a clean install will help me figure it out.
i have a Motorola HD Box DCX3200-M. I record a whole bunch of "movies on the MC1 MC2 MC3 HD" but just sometimes it fails... I will have to test this further to figure out the exact issue... this is nuts lol. I thank you all for the suggestions of things that I should look at to figure this out. Something I just remembered is that I have HDMI going to my TV and Component going to my pvr.... could the HDMI connection be forcing a disconnect on the component? hmmmm. maybe thats why sometimes their is a signal and sometimes there is not....... something to tinker with.

The more we've looked at this the more I'm convinced it's not NextPVR causing your problem, so uninstalling/reinstalling it etc isn't going to make any difference.

Could be something to do with the HDMI causing Component to drop, or copy protection, or STB-idle-standby, or something similar.
Is there a TV connected to the STB? HDMI or how? Perhaps the HDMI turns off the box output when the TV is off, i.e., sensed as not present. Could you "loop" the component through the Colossus and then to the TV component in for a test?
mikeh49, I will do as you guys are mentioning, i think my setup is whats causing my issues. I will check for standy timers or shutdown timers on the STB, i will loop the component through the pvr to the tv and hopefully after doing this, i won't have any more problems.
i noticed after a reinstall that all my recordings are defaulting to modeSD although the channels its recording from should be HD channels. is the bitrate being determined by the pvr or by the STB and if it is by the STB should i just let the STB determine what type of bitrate it should use? or should i set modesd to be the same as 1080i?
The bitrate is set by NRecord based on the initial res. that it detects. You can modify config.xml to output a higher rate. I force my stb to a constant res to avoid problems on tuning.
