KODI Causing recording service to crash

I created 2 .bat files (stop NPVRServiceControl.exe) and (start NPVRServiceControl.exe) and have Eventghost run these a couple seconds apart every time Kodi starts... I also have them run hidden (Eventghost option). However there are little popups that say "Stopped..." and "Started..." every time.. It would be perfect without these popups boxes. Any ideas on how to disable them?

I'm not sure why you're having to restart anything, but you could try running "NPVRServiceControl.exe -restart" instead. From memory it doesn't show any message.

It's the same problem from my first post with all the edits... Anyway Problem SOLVED! That is exactly what I needed! I didn't know -restart was an option. (I'm not much of a command line guy.) Thanks So Much!

It might be worth manually running "nrecord.exe RUN" from the command line (with service stopped), then reproduce your recording service crash, to see if you get any message on the screen.

I haven't heard of any other people with this problem, and can't think of any reason it would happen.

Can't start service from the command line. I get a pop up that tells me this when I click on nrecord.exe in windows explorer too.

As I said, you need to run it with the "RUN" parameter (and it's got to be upper case).

Did get Npvr Recording Service to stop and start using cmd (net start) but it doesn't tell me anything after its started.

Yep that's got it working.. Didn't capitalize RUN before ... Now it's going through

That isn't a sign of any problem.

Does it crash when you quiet Kodi, like you originally indicated?
