The version I have is Jan 31, 2016. I also have another FFMPEG.EXE on my system installed in the Servio folder. I haven't done development work in a long while, but I don't THINK his is a problem. I did notice there are multiple FFMPEG crash dumps about the time I was testing. I will get you the info requested above.

Sub,

No unusual CPU activity that I could see. Here is the file you requested.

SilverTiger Wrote:Spoke too soon. Seemed to be working most of the time from localhost, so I tried over my Wifi (IE on Win10 client). This started to work once from NOW, lasted for maybe 15 seconds then went away. After that, could not connect. So, I went to the server and the Recording Service had crashed. I can send you the event log stuff and whatever logs you want, just not sure what you want to see.
Reproduce the crash, and zip/attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Here you go. It does NOT appear the service crashed this time. However, same behavior on the client end. The N in the task bar was red, then went back to normal after it stopped. BTW, i tried replacing FFMPEG.EXE as a poster suggested. For me, this did nothing. Same behavior. The log files were created using the FFMPEG.EXE that you supplied.

If my input is worth anything, I've reinstalled the later version of NPVR 3.7.7 and the Modern interface update above, and it's resolved the same issue for me. The only additional step I took during troubleshooting is that I updated my version of ffmpeg.exe to the ffmpeg-20160710 Static release and used PowerShell to unblock the executable.

Did you do anything fancy with ffmpeg replacement, or just replace the .exe? The one I downloaded does not show as being blocked. I assume you are talking about the block that shows in properties>general. Are you running Windows 10?

Thanks for the response.

I didn't do anything fancy with the ffmpeg.exe replacement. I renamed the original file (so I could back out of the change easier), and copied the file into the NPVR\Other folder. I was referring to the block that shows up in Properties>General. (It wouldn't clear even though my logon is an administrator, so I did it programmatically in PowerShell using "Run as Administrator".)

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate - my setup details are accurate in my signature. (My RasPi isn't connected at the moment, so I haven't tested anything with that as of late.)

Tried again on new release (Modern client). From localhost, seems to work. From another computer, starts to play then freezes. Doesn't matter whether I start from the guide (which works) or from NOW button (also works). When I click to watch, plays for about 10 seconds or so, then freezes. I've attached logs. Testing time was 12-Oct at about 9:07AM or so.

What CPU is in your machine? Streaming in the web app requires quite a bit of CPU, since in needs to be able to transcode in real time.
