Graham - Thanks so much for all the instructions. Decide to do a full Monty and start everything again. I renamed the .db3 file .bac and then completely uninstalled my tuners. Downloaded the latest ASUS drivers and reinstalled. Back to NPVR and set them up from scratch. Scan went quickly then set about re-allocating all the Schedules Direct mappings. Did a manual EPG update all the way through without crashing. I can now happily set season recordings from the guide where they again highlight in red and they're also showing up in pending recordings. Just need to wait for the first program to air tonight to check that it recorded okay.

sub - thanks for the offer to check my .db3 file. Guessing it must have been corrupt if Graham's suggestion to create a new one has solved the issue? In case the file was any use to you for research I did try uploading it but when zipped it came in at 2.49Mb which was a little over your upload limit so would not attach; sorry.

Thanks again to everyone for the brilliant advice, help and the NextPVR program.

Sorry, but now cannot get Kodi to connect either on local machine (127.0.0.1) nor from Shield. I haven't changed anything other than previous post so do not understand why cannot connect? It was working before I created the new database.

I can connect to 127.0.0.1:8866 via browser. Have attached logs in case they help. Thanks in advance. David

The logs look like there was devices succesfully connected.

Maybe stop the recording service, delete the logs, then restart the service and try again. Then at least the logs showing earlier successful attempts will be gone, making it clearer what we're looking at.

Done as requested. Once logs cleared I opened Kodi, but it would not update guide nor show the TV tab. New log attached.

There is no sign of any errors there, but Kodi never asked for listings.

Are you really running Kodi 15? Haven't tried Kodi 16?

Using K15 as I only use host pc to log in remotely to check guide and set recordings via Kodi. In K16 I could not see the option for series recording so reverted back to K15 where it worked.

As a test I have completely uninstalled NPVR from host pc including deleting all the folders in x86 and users/public so that I could try a complete new build without any old configs remaining. Rebooted then installed 3.8.3 and did a quick set up for testing; only mapped a few Schedules Direct so this explains errors in logs. Host machine using Kodi 15 on 127.0.0.1 and default settings will not show TV tab. Very briefly a message flashes at top of screen with something like 'pvr manager is starting up' but nothing more happens. This used to continue with showing progress of guide updates, but this just doesn't happen any more.

I did a first time ever install of Kodi 16.1 on my laptop, just to test. Enabled NPVR add-on and used 192.168.0.2 (host pc's fixed IP) with remaining default settings. I cannot see any TV tab.

I saw in some of the logs it seemed to be loading channels but then says ...snip... and appears to have stopped - which I don't understand.

So now I have three versions of Kodi (K15 on local host pc, K16.1 on win10 laptop, K16.1 on Shield TV (Android)) and none of them will connect to NPVR since deleting the old database yesterday. Attached logs show the three devices connecting but I assure you Kodi does not load the guides nor add the TV tab on any of them.

Update:
Finally solved this issue. As no-one came back to me, continued searching Google and forum and found details of how to COMPLETELY remove NPVR - http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ely+remove .

Once I'd deleted all registry entries for NPVR and re-booting I installed the last working version I had, 3.7.7. Sadly season recording still didn't work, but I did have full access via Kodi again. Then did a manual stop of services and manual upgrade to 3.8.3. Everything is working as it should again, both with season recordings and within Kodi on all platforms and versions.

And if it all goes Pete Tong, you can restore the npvr.db3 that you had before you started.

I too had a similar problem in that after my upgrade, only some of my recuring recordings worked. Even after canceling a recuring recording and reprogramming, it still would not work. I could however individually record individual episodes.

I followed the instructions to rebuild the database and now all is good.
