I just installed the latest win10 creators update after delaying it for over a week and everything seems fine with NextPVR after the update other than the Web access will no longer connect. I can no longer access the Web App after the update and I've gone through all the folders along the path that is giving the error and taken control of and shared them with my user account, but it still will no longer connect. I've included screen shots of the error I'm getting when accessing through my browser, a screen shot of the sharing permissions showing I have full control of the folder and the latest logs. I get a similar error from my phone as I receive from the web. Does anyone have ideas as to what it is that is causing this and what folders permissions may be causing this because as far as I can tell all folders are shared and that normally takes care of this error. But that last Win10 update must have changed something as it no longer works.

There is another post with the same error, the general solution after any major Windows update is simply to rerun the current installer to fix permissions on the web server temporary folder.

I always get nervous with big time updates like the Anniversary Update.

I upgraded a couple of weeks ago. The creator version of the os does seem to be slightly more efficient/faster than before. Edge appears to be using a little less cpu. No obvious issues like freezes, crashes or blue screens. Appears to have solved the problem everyone had of System Restore not working since some update in January obliterated it. I would say its a good upgrade.

As for NextPVR it appears to run OK. There are occasional times though the video appears to be a lower frame rate than normal. Reminds me of the difference between a 120Hz tv with a good HD satellite signal compared to a 60 Hz tv. A reboot appears to clear the issue up anytime it happens, so I really have not looked into it all. One caveat is I have not tried remote/web access.

I noticed that Hauppauge came out with an update for WinTV8 mid April. Not sure if it had anything specific in it for Creator but that software appears to work perfectly from what I can see on the screen.

Hope this helps. I would say Creator is a go.

Creator seems to be a go. I did a clean install on Intel NUC. However the MPEG2 Extension in the Windows store was a bit of a disappointmment. Looks like the extension will only work on UWP apps. ts files will at list try and play in the Movies & TV app. DD 5.1 audio is fine but the video is played in very slow motion. Reported issue. Good news, the HDHomeRun app went from 70% cpu utilization to 8% .

As OP, I just wanted to check in and thank all who have contributed their experiences with Creators Update. I have taken the plunge and upgraded. All is well.

Thanks to all the NextPVR developers for inoculating their valued contributions against mighty MS and its updates! However that's done...Smile

I'm having the exact same problem and it's only temporary fix rerunning the installer and then once the system is re-booted and KODI can't pick up the backend anymore either.

Doesn't sound like the same problem, open a new thread and post your logs. Note that some versions of the 4.0 installer were missing files needed for the web server so get the current one.

I updated to Fall Creators 1709 yesterday. When I tried to play an mp4 video in my usual non-administrative account I got a popup install shield saying "Preparing to Install" and everything froze. I had to end NPVR to move on. MPEG-2's still play fine. When I tried the same operation from an adminstrative acount everything worked fine. I was using and older version of SAF using the LAV decoders. I tried re-installing SAF, nochange. I installed the latest version of SAF, no change. I then removed SAF and install LAV from the web site the the NPVR configruation guide sends you to. No change. The video's play fine from adminstrative account and will "Preparing to install" from non-admin account when I click on the video in the menu. I then upgraded to NPVR 4.05 no change.

Sounds like some sort of UAC problem that upgrading triggered. Any idea how to fix?
